Mélange Priveé [sic] SQ

This is an impossibly luscious and well-rounded rose. I normally dislike Taifi rose as I find it too citrusy, peppery and heady, but 40 years of ageing has rendered it smooth. Rose tends to dominate in any blend, and does so here. Nonetheless, the very heavy dose of oudiness from Oud Royale 1980 adds richness to an already rich rose. To me, this is a show-stopper. I am enchanted, and this has vaulted to my top 3 all-time favorite purchases from Ensar Oud.

Vanilla Paradise by Jinkoh Lounge

This lives up to its description. It opens with an intense blast of bananas. Ripe, creamy banana on steroids. This intensity gives way to another form of intensity and this times it’s tobacco. It’s strong, pungent cigar tobacco with heavy mentholated camphor aspects. Dark vanilla and coffee join the tobacco to form a brooding gourmand’ish accord that rounds the perfect “Russian Cream Backwoods” accord. If you’re unfamiliar with a Russian Cream Backwoods it’s a spiced vanilla cigar that smells absolutely stunning. I always wanted to smell like a backwoods and now I can. If you’re a fan of tobacco this is truly it. Don’t let the name fool you. This is all about the tobacco.

Areej's Oud Zhen

After listening to people talk about it on FB, I was expecting a stank bomb.
This is a sweet beautiful, myrrh loaded amber with a hint of smoke to me. At moments, it reminded me of Ambre Sultan from Serge Lutens or Bortnikoff's Oud Monarch.
I understand it needs to settle down a bit and all that. This one is a my favorite from this release after Russian Musk, which I find lacks longevity on my skin in this hot weather.

Sultan Pasha sample set No.3 Irisoir

Violet, Iris, Heliotrope dominates the opening. Tons of powder... 🤔 I think the quality of the iris note is fantastic. Though the iris used in Elixir Attar's Iris Chypre smells smoother to my nose. Every element used in this blend is there to complement the iris's innate characteristics. Such as powdery, chocolatey, peppery, flowery facets.

Too many synthetics that make me think they suppress its potential. Very French, classic, gourmand-ish, feminine.

Sultan Pasha utilizes synthetics like no other and I appreciate that. But I prefer without those elements. So far every attar from Sultan Pasha chokes up my throat due to those facets. Feels very stuffy and subdued.

You may be using too much... if you use just a pinhead worth and rub in all around you may find the Attar opens up better. I know Sultan tries to encourage people to use smaller amounts than they are used to.

Ruh Khus from An Najwa !!! This and the Ruh Khus from Tabeer Oud are the best two Khus for me.
Both from Aligarh, top notes, no earthy and mossy scent. [Ouddict.com] Attar/Mukhallat of the Day
