A generous amount of a Kelantan (Malaysian) oil with a Taifi rose dab. Simply blissful! IMHO, once you try genuine rose and oud combo, it is very difficult to like most oud-rose combos available in the niche and Indie worlds (let alone anything else). It also never becomes dull like the latter.
I had to try this combination, but with Habzoud Zamarad 2 with the Ward Ta’ifi. It is very nice indeed, a seamless layering.
Then after a few minutes I added a little Kashmiri musk macerated in sandalwood oil,
it took on a totally different character at that point, one that deserves to sit a while and meld, but just the oud and rose by itself was kinda better.

Elixir Attar - Ghaliyat Tareeq Al Hareer
this one is really not easy because it smells very different every time I wear it.
sometimes it blows me away and sometimes I just get a murky cloud of petrol.

today I'm getting petrol, diesel-like opening again.
I'm not sure when should I use this to get the most out of it. 🙁

RPP - Musk Rose, EdP version(Unreleased)
Two sprays on a shirt.

the opening is pleasantly musky without the animalic, urinal facets of actual deer musk. the clean-cotton-like quality of plant-based musk is well exhibited while velvety sweet rose plays a central role. the sweetness of Centifolia rose is supported by candy-sweet Cambodian oud and chewy, dense champaca, extra sweet Mysore sandalwood.
it smells very sweet. and gets sweeter over time. this unique sweetness that mostly consists of Cambodian oud is very different compared to conventional sweet accords.

all the ingredients share many facets and are bonded tightly. it smells deceptively simple. in this purposefully narrowly set boundary, each ingredient chores their beauties and makes a great synergetic effect.

the nuances change constantly and engage the sense of smell, but not too stimulating.

I quite like it but can be felt too sweet for many people.

Just curious anyone here go exclusively attars and no more perfumes? I've been thinking about doing that I love the small bottles plus it seems to me to try they last longer as in use wise.
I’ve pretty much gone in that direction. I much prefer wearing attars to sprays these days. When I go on holiday this summer, it’ll be great to be able to put a selection of ouds and attars in a little box to travel with.

I did several years ago, but have gone back to a mixture of spray perfumes during the day and attars and ouds in the evening during the past year or so.
Would you be able to wear both during the day, attars for yourself and spray fragrances for others to smell? How and where would you apply to achieve this?

I have recently started doing this
I apply the oil behind the ear and on my neck.

Then spray perfume lower than chest height. On cuffs, sleeves, abdominal area.
Not sure what others smell. I definitely smell both distinctly. Smell more of the oil but when I move around I can also smell the spray.

Works very well for me when I want to wear wear barnyard oud but still have to meet people and go to work.

I acquired them in Jan this year.
I've been wearing the roh khas non-stop.
I really like it. It walks a good balance between fresh and earthy. Longevity is also good. I got it this week and apparently it's his new batch.

Rohits other oils, like his Roh Kadam, Motia and Gulab are actually quite weird. They all have the same opening note, which I find disgusting. I don't know how to describe this note. It's a foreign smell to me. It's not a rotten kind of smell or a fecal smell. It's a plastic/ chemical type vibe.

When I asked him about it he said that hydro distilled oils have this note and it dissipates in 15 minutes. He said ML Ramnarain Gulab also had this, I wouldn't know as I've never smelled that.

I just can't get over that opening.
Strong dislike for his other stuff. Longevity on skin for his other stuff is very low. On clothes abit better and that opening note is also less pronounced still way too much for me to ignore.
