Thanks for sharing.I've been wearing the roh khas non-stop.
I really like it. It walks a good balance between fresh and earthy. Longevity is also good. I got it this week and apparently it's his new batch.
Rohits other oils, like his Roh Kadam, Motia and Gulab are actually quite weird. They all have the same opening note, which I find disgusting. I don't know how to describe this note. It's a foreign smell to me. It's not a rotten kind of smell or a fecal smell. It's a plastic/ chemical type vibe.
When I asked him about it he said that hydro distilled oils have this note and it dissipates in 15 minutes. He said ML Ramnarain Gulab also had this, I wouldn't know as I've never smelled that.
I just can't get over that opening.
Strong dislike for his other stuff. Longevity on skin for his other stuff is very low. On clothes abit better and that opening note is also less pronounced still way too much for me to ignore.
You may have received a better distillation. If you were in the US, I would have requested for a sample to compare.
The Rose oil was okay, not bad. Just overly sweet. Nothing special.
The smell that you dislike and get from these oils, they come from distillation techniques. Its not true that all Hydro Distilled oils have it.
I have the oils from MLR and other distillers and none of them have the note. In fact MLR Ruh Gulab is my favorite Ruh Gulab in the market.
I feel brother Rohit needs to tweak his distillation technique and he can make things better. Do share your feedback with him. He is a very positive person when taking in feedback.
