Wearing KyaraZen’s Ghaliya today!

Good lord this smells almost identical to Malik al Taif. Like it’s almost spot on identical in every way except for the base. There doesn’t seem to be an overly sweet synthetic/vanillin base like MaT.

This is my first time smelling KyaraZen’s perfumery style and it’s glorious. This might be one of the best Ghaliya’s I’ve smelled and it’s completely vegan. Whatever he’s doing is great.

Wearing Kangiiten x Kyarazen new vegan Ghaliyah. Beautiful rose with spices and a deep buttery sandalwood. Really enjoyable if you like rose. My wife finally told me that I smell good. Always worth something 👍
My only complaint is the performance seems to be lacking a bit but that’s expected. I love the Oud he used here because it seems just musky enough without stepping into barn territory but it definitely flirts with that aroma.

Zhen by FO layered with Tibetan Musk Tincture: It is more than a wonder now. Zhen perfume itself is a fragrant nova, and vintage Musk tincture itself is super nova.

I think I have to blend 5ml Zhen and 15ml Tibetan Musk tincture. Let's see what would be the end result. Layering had induced me to go for this.

Tried RPP's 1840's Birch Tar today for the first time.

😨 it's a smoke bomb! extremely potent and intense. do you know the smell of just grounded asphalt? it's just like that.

petrol-ish, leathery, heady, throat choking...
it may sound awful but it's quite pleasant. 😁

if you're kind of a person who likes the smell of a gas station, you gonna love it.

Risky move, more power to ya!
I'm working with very small amounts. Wouldn't risk it with any real amount of E. Gazi that I couldn't afford to lose. Thank god I didn't because the result isn't as good as the oud itself.

I think E. Gazi infused with musk would be good, just to enhance the amazing smell that Gazi already has. That's going to be my next experiment. Maybe pure ambergris too because I think the sandalwood imposes in a way I don't like.

The way I see it is that some of these ouds are extremely precious, and if a musk infusion or something is the best way to get the most out of the oil then it would be a shame not to do that. That's the risk you take when you DON'T mix your oud with other things. Usually that is my goal, rather than trying to make a classic Indian/arabian style attar with oud as an ingredient.

Oh yeah I'm all for experimentation in small amounts as well. Usually if I were to transfer oils from a bottle, I'd use the residual freely, mixing with other materials. Its fun!
