Attar/Mukhallat of the Day

Amber Imperial by Mellifluence attars earlier today. Some brothers in the Masjid enjoyed this beauty earlier today.

Upon return, I dabbed a tiny bit of garednia absolute (as I wanted to write down its odour profile over time). Just divine.

The bonus: They compliment each other.
 
Anyone knows the difference between KZ Al-ghaliyah 2016 and the 2017 version? I have the former but I've missed the latter....thanks.
 
Hello everyone, I wanted to give a short review of the musk and Oud powerhouse known as YaQoot. I ordered a sample of it as soon as it was up on the site and I have to say my previous belief that Alshareef Oudh offer the best mukhallats amongst all is intact.

I was a stranger to Musk and a middle journey man in Oud. So I started to try different offerings with musk in it, sometimes mixed in sandalwoodand other times with more mixtures which might also include Oud. This was the first time I was going to try just Oud and Musk.

YaQoot : Starting off I get the strong masculine musk, the epitome of the masculine scent ..... slightly animalic but tamed. Then the beautiful Malaysian oud shows it's glorious self dancing with and competing for the upper hand...but no way the strong yet captivating Musk will cecede it's power to the Oud. This love story reminds of loves forgone by: heer Ranjha, laileh majnoon, Shirin and Farhad, Mumtaz aur shahjehan, Jodha and Akbar. The best of combinations is Musk and Oud and all others are a waste and a disservice to Musk. For this pulchritudinous substance there needs to be an able partner to tame it from arrogance and give it it's due and rise together like the Phoenix from raw materials to the Exalted fragrance of Kings and Maharajas. This not for the commoners, or for the weak willed who are easily satisfied with things like rose damascena or santalum album from Mysore......or synthetic molecules.

Very innocent markings😛. I always love reading about Musk.
Its being your first encounter with Musk and Oud, new aroma really haunts. Very natural, thus real and pure. No doubt Musk is just Musk. The day one really comes across Musk, then any other partner with Musk appears to be unbidden and unwanted even Oud. For me,a true connoisseur of MUSK doesn't let any other unbidden partner (oil) be with The Musk.

By the way, respected brother MzM, Musk and Oud is NOT actually Musk. But Musk and Sandal CAN be Musk.


PS: My fragrance of the day: Pure Musk Grains, Kashmiri Musk Grains, sniffing. I don't love Musk at all, I adore it, in its pure form. I am very thankful to respected Al Shareef Oud over sharing the method how to create Musk aroma that I was not familiar with.
