Musk Al Alam - Ahom World

Late night swipe. This composition is all about contrasts. A skilful interplay of dark & light. The plush animalic heaviness of Musk, Castoreum & Civet finely balanced with crystalline, sparkling Rose & Lubaan EO.
Upon initial application a powerful, dense, animalic accord sings off the skin with an its carnal, vanillic, leathery, vintage characteristics.
Quickly, a citrusy Rose & luminous Lubaan reveal themselves & weave their way between the animalic notes beautifying the bold, somewhat dirty impression. The Musk here is not fruity, chocolatey, fuzzy - it’s dark, phenolic, ammonia, with a serious & austere temperament.
Musk Al Alam’s effect is quite simple, the heavy, resinous, powdery, dark, leathery, vanillic animalics playing peek a boo with the purity of the Rose & Incense. One moment the Musk & animalics dominate, the next the Rose is singing loudly briefly suppressing the Musk.

A marriage of vintage Arabian, Indian & classical French perfumery. Bold, yet refined. Not for the faint of heart.

[Ouddict.com] Attar/Mukhallat of the Day

my local market has "curry leaf" in stock in both dried and fresh form. Apparently this is a type of Neem(?)

Has anyone tried to tincture this material?

@mesOUD Ghaliya Badee was one i was checking out yesterday afternoon. Has that classic rose / amber / musk / oud accord, nice smells top to bottom. Very long persistence on skin - I could still smell traces 12 hours later. Ingredients seem to be in balance, I cannot pick out individual notes with confidence (as is generally the case for me with these carefully blended musk-rose-amber-oud-spice bouquets). I can see the common theme in comparison with An Najwa and Sulaym ghaliyas (though each is unique and recognizable). I think this is only the third ghaliya I have smelled... I am still learning what defines the genre. This is a beautiful rich oudy-musky-rose!

Mitti gulab - Mesoud

Brother Mehmet shipped this to me yesterday and I received it today morning. Putting oil quality aside, his customer service is and always has been unbelievable.

Anyway about the attar. From application I instantly got an animalic smell, although I'm not sure what was responsible for that. It reminded me of naseem a little. At the same time, I got a glorious smell of sweet earth and rose. Imagine the smell of soil, but sweet and floral with no damp.

The heart currently is my favourite part. The animalic facet is gone and now it's just smooth buttery sandalwood and sweet floral earth. I'm fascinated by the way brother Mehmet merged the mitti and rose together to make them smell like one body. Sometimes the mitti dominates, sometimes the rose dominates. The rose itself is quite soft and sweet, not citrusy imo

Ajmal - Mukhallat Dehn Al Oud Moattaq (OIl) - Wore this yesterday and I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it! Often I find it to be quite nearly screechy but yesterday the scent was beautiful rose absolute, with rose e.o and oud oil. A very strong scent though not headache inducing, just can't overstate the sweetness I experienced enough. A very different rose-oud composition than most others on the market. We're used to either jammy rose or sparkling citrus like roses, here you have a comprise between the two materials, and the outcome is an oil with exceptional projection, longevity and "will walk with your to another room" levels of sillage.

Mukhallat Qaboos from Mohd. Ayub & Company comes very close to this, especially in the dry down, however it's missing the sparkling rose facet.

And if you want an additional level of sophistication, then a swipe of a good Ruh Khus will truly surprise you to no end! The lesser discussed pairing is one of my favorites these days, and without a doubt the complexity to price ratio is unbeatable!

I have no evidence, but I have the strong suspicion that our dear friend @mesOUD has a private airplane and delivers these packages himself... I have no other explanation for his insane shipping speeds ;-)
As you know, that is not my professional buisness,i am in textile buisness and we have agreements with courier companies and using fastest services, but still they are headache and loosing packages 😂
That is absolutely right. I suspect the same. The man genuinely cares about his customers.
To be honest, I don't see any of you as customers, I see you as brothers and sisters and fellow hobbyists to whom I show the same care I show for myself.

Crazy selection at this place - very unusual collection of oils! Hope to sample one day...

would you please share your impression on this?
Absolutely! I can't say I have anything bad to say about it! It's a mukhallat of several of the house's most prized ouds, from several regions, the majority being an aged Pursat, but also Sumbawa and Maroke oils as well as an old Hindi, if I'm not mistaken. Those are taken and fermented with musk and ambergris "clay", and after a period, first rate Ta'ifi rose is mixed in with an aged Shamamatul Amber and an additional, albeit smaller quantity of musk grains.

Starts off with a very cooling aroma, fresh crisp most likely from interaction of roses with certain ouds. There's a sweetness here, but it's very sophisticated, nothing pedestrian. As the scent settles on your skin it envelops you in a scent bubble. As it continues to dry down you start to feel the warming resinous aspects of the ouds come out, and in the dry down, the unmistakable scent of deer musk. Very easy to love, but for the connoisseur there's a fair bit of depth here.

What drew me to the composition were the videos on Maysam Co's YouTube channel and the effort I saw from Abu Khalid, the head of the company in reviving traditional Arabic fragrances. Giving people a mukhallat that's rested in Deer Musk and Ambergris at this price is no small feat.
