Jazakum Allah khair. Not just you but everyone else here. Going out of your way to help others on our journey is amazing. In sha Allah I'll let you know after I try them on.
What blends and oud would you recommend from Sokkat Al teeb I have heard about them never tried them my preferences would be something with deer musk and for the oud from the Indian region also tell me your favorites
Thanks

The first two are must haves. blue oud, east asian, are also top for me. the others i have only wore maybe once and its been a while. but among my favorites. I have many others from sokkat alteeb. trad alhatab(Trat firewood) seems to be a favorite to many. I have it but wouldnt say among my favorites. its nice to have though. I want to get my hands on some of his more expensive items such as 1992 indian oil and indian vip. he also has two malaysian oil which are his most expensive. regret not trying his filipino oil while he had some. maybe from ajmal in the near future.
My only indian from him is suyufi mubakhar. Its ok. really loved it at first but it changes very often. hard to rate it because it can go anywhere from an 6 to an 8. never seen an oil change so frequently like this.
They have a natural deer musk oil. 6ml. Love it. They also have blends with deer musk but I haven't tried yet. My other favorites have to be:
(1980 collectibles oud oil) - دهن عود مقتنيات 1980

(buried treasures oud oil) - دهن عود مقتنيات مدفونة

(Bronze oud oil) دهن عود برونزي

(Blue oud incense oil) دهن عود البخور الازرق

(treasure of ancient forests) دهن عود كنز الغابات القديمة

(Black Prachin Oud Oil) - دهن عود براشين الاسود

East Asian collectibles - مقتنيات شرق اسيا

(Heritage artifacts) - مقتنيات تراثية

(Old oud oil deposits (2)) - دهن عود رواسب قديمة(2)

Got a couple quarter tolas from Aura.Oudh on IG. Took a chance on another “affordable” oud and though I do enjoy the scent of both, not convinced they are 100% pure dehn al oudh. Far more potent and convincing than the PF Suyufi i bought earlier, but again consistency is suspiciously sticky, not just thick. Makhtoom is supposed to be an aged assam hindi, and it does seem like that may be included but am not impressed by the profile, feels a bit general and not volatile at all. Sweet Trath is a bit more volatile but still seems subdued a bit and again, so sticky. They look good though and Ill be reselling them along with other stuff ive been getting rid of.

Ive been eager to listen to and review these samples from Safinity that were sent along with my recent purchase of plantation Khao Yai. First, the KY/prachin oil he is selling, i find to be a very refined oil (as others have mentioned as well, on the reddit forum) with a beautiful and deep profile, at such an affordable price point. It has a bright, volatile opening, with a sweet smoky heart note and lasting resinous, woody base. There is depth, character, warmth and though I do not have much to compare it to, it sings beautifully above some other oud oils at a similar price point ive tried.

I suspected Safe knows what hes doing, just with the initial free sample offered, and the follow up did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to afford a 3 tola purchase that I will be formulating with and wearing daily for some time. Along with it were samples of oil not yet offered to purchase, but hopefully will be in the near future. Throughout the process, @Mr.Safinity was super helpful and provided some truly stellar customer service. Along the line I had several questions, changes in my budget and issues with payment method, all of which were no hurdle for him. Truly very gracious with his time, information, and assistance; going out of his way to ensure the best transaction and outcome. Now onto the oils themselves.
The original sample of Plantation Khao Yai I had a few different reviews for initially but settled on the following notes after a few wears.
  • Sage & fenugreek
  • Cacao & eucalyptus
  • Wood smoke & molasses
  • Fresh cut grass & dried tart cherry
  • Redwood-wood & moss, syrupy pepper
Its a sweet, tart, camphorous oud with little to no funk really, but very voluptuous and long lasting. It is just delightful as a daily wear, neat, or in addition to perfumes and layering.

The Wild KY sample sent along with it was really something. So happy to be able to compare a farmed vs wild for the first time, and yes its even better. Well, maybe not better, but deeper and more nuanced, equally enjoyable. The Wild KY was less sweet, more leathery and resinous, smokey, with a complex and mature profile, again very refined. I picked up most of the same notes with a little bit more focus on brandy and tobacco, some more ouddiness, less sweet and slightly less tart. More prune than cherry, some lavender and champaca like top notes. Very enjoyable the, both of them.

There were also two samples of Trat oil, one fermented and one not. Again the word refined comes up because the oil is so crisp and balanced, cured appropriately. Surprisingly the fermented one was immediately more attractive to my nose with a sweet funky cheesy fruit combo. Both are just outstanding in my humble, novice opinion but i do love the funk. These are the notes I took, wearing both on the same day, one each hand, and a dab each ear.

Fermented Trat:
  • Clove & Redwood
  • Copper & Champaca
  • Mango cream & Mossy Cheese
  • Incense & Brown sugar
  • Leather jacket & Orange wine
Normal Trat:
  • Black cardamom and clove
  • Strawberry Banna, garlic cutting board
  • Leather & smoke
  • Resin & black tea
  • Cherry & rosewood
The fermented funk really stands out for the first hour or more, then settles down and almost matches the normal trat dry-down, smokey leathery red/rosewood. Very happy with all these goodies and am looking forward to purchasing more fermented trat and some more wild prachin in the future when its available. Shipping was incredibly fast, top notch customer service, quality fresh distilled plantation oils at really such an amazing price. Im so very grateful for @Mr.Safinity, as a beginner with a modest budget and good taste lol.

Stellar review!. And I had been waiting for @Mr.Safinity to launch 🚀 new products aside from the Khao Yai I sampled (which was amazing). Glad to hear he has Trat now as I feel Trat doesn’t get the love that it should. It’s so underrated. I think I will get both Trats you mentioned. They sound so juicy.

Amazing news! Yes very juicy indeed i am really so into the fermented one

I had assumed by you saying you sampled the Trats that he launched it. I’ve messaged him to ask if this is so. I guess we’ll find out.
Im not sure its really launched at the moment either but I do know more distilling is happening and am hoping they come out soon too! He was very gracious to preview them

Hindi Assam - nice wine 🍷 and cherry 🍒 notes with slight animalic undertone.

Trat Floral - nice version of a Trat .. fruity, woody floral

Khao Yai Bakhoori - nice smoky incensy Oud

Indonesian Special - I remember this was good.

Prachin Qadeem - I don’t see it on their website but was fanatastic. Perhaps try Prachin floral?

Koh Chang Floral - I just got this but forgot about it and wore a different Oud. Will get to that later tonight . Aged 5 years and from a 70 year old tree.

Anything from them i think you’ll find good value for the price.

Please let us know how the sample set from Immortal Oud is. I want to buy a whole tola of Koh Kong 2018 but also wanted to try other ones. I’m perplexed so would appreciate your review. Please tag me when it happens.
Sorry for the late reply. thought I reviewed already. I didn't get koh kong'18 as part of the sample set. I did try all ten samples, I believe, but I wasn't really impressed at first. I've gone through similar experiences so I will not give my final reviews just yet. Some smelled very nice and strong from the bottle. But as soon as I wear them, they seemed weak and not long lasting. This may be my fault. Usually I get dry skin during the spring and I also don't have the best nose. My nose is literally crooked. The cartilage is bent pretty bad. Maybe that's the issue. My theory is that depending on the sizes of the particles, I may smell some notes and not others.

Anyway, I did buy fractioned coconut oil, argan oil and jojoba oil-all organic. I've already just started experimenting with which oil is best and how much longer each oil holds scents vs dry skin.

I'll give immortal oud another try in a couple of months. I did so with "oud dhul Q" for few days. I like it much better than few months ago. I also now remember it smelling this nice when I first got it. Strong scent too. I also realized that my previous reviews were too generous. 10/10 should only be given to the best of best. I believe I have some that are on that level but some scores need to be downgraded.

Also among my favorites are newly acquired oudique oils. In sha Allah I'll give reviews in the month of muharram. I need to try them on first. They seem very promising. Attars and musk smell amazing.

Love most Trats. Have one from @Al Hashimi . Beautiful, vintage stuff. I don’t detect that it’s been fermented though. Perhaps he can correct me if I’m wrong. I only have like 0.5g left as I used the majority of it in a fragrance.

Yes, a beautiful review indeed. Most helpful.

Malay Ultimae - Faizal Privee (Sample)

It has a beautiful medium bodied dark shiny color. The first inhalation I positive notes of anti-septic which I love so much. Almost like almond essence. It’s a highly desirable note. Now it’s evolving to maraschino cherries. This is a scent of nirvana for me. I definitely would want this in my collection. The silage and projection are fair. This is a connoisseur’s oil.

I give it 10/10.
When you say medium bodied or full bodied oil, what exactly does it mean? Are you referring to the oil appearance or is it related to the actual fragrance?

Ill further clarify that I do not believe these oils were adulterated with any additional aroma chemicals of any kind (i now know what that smells like), but they did not have a volatile enough opening for me to enjoy, which could mean they are just not high quality (which is fine at the price point offered) or that there is a chance of dilution with a carrier added.

Thanks for asking. Much to how it would be like describing wine. I try to put this analogy to the oil or scent. So a full-bodied oil would be intense, strong, robust (dark berries, tobacco, chocolate, strong leather). Perhaps aged more. A medium-bodied Oud would be less intense, lighter, refreshing aromaticslly speaking (crisp light red berries, apple, nuts, saltiness, floral, aquatic, ozonic) … I’m also describing the feel and physical texture of the oil .

hope that helps.
