[Ouddict.com] Burn of the Day

Al Hashimi - Sabah Ghattas
Sahba Ghattas is a very gravitas oud wood. all the notes feel very heavy and dense from start to end. at first, it gives off savory nuts, sweet vanilla, labdanum, and spices. honied vanilla gradually becomes stronger and fills a room within a few minutes. when cranking up the temperature smoked nuts note accentuated and overshadows the sweetness. so it's better to heat it between low to middle temperature.

what's waiting after when all the top notes evaporate is a smell of grounding oud resin. voila! blissful deep resinous oomph that only can be found in sinking grade oud.

KZ Brunei Heartwood
Lovely.

Kyukyodo squares
Smells like Maluku and Ceram.

Hainan
Kapow!! Excellent profile.

AH Mindanao Malaki
Some of the nuggets are stellar,
like concentrated oudh.

...another great session.

Non-sinking cultivated kinam from @EJayB
turn it on, turn it off. turn it on, turn it off. it goes for hours this way.
I get honied, crushed petals smell but that's very far from what it actually smells like.
now I understand why @Oudamberlove talked so much about it. this goes right at the top of 'the wood of the year' along with Brunei Ghattas.
$10 for a gram is an insane price for what you get. I can't wait to try the oil that EJayB is distilling with cultivated kinam shavings.
I strongly, STRONGLY recommend this if you haven't tried it yet.

EO Pinoy Privee
Glad to have this Philippine variant
then finished with
Olefaktory Cultivated Kinam
smells good!!

Update...
Heated some NK Borneo,
I just got through listening to some
cultivated kinam,
and this Borneo is singing a similar
tune with gentle heating.
Borneo Kinam??
Where have I heard that before:Roflmao:

Olefaktory - Cultivated Kinam
Oh, yes! more, please! very complex. flower, honey, labdanum to name a few. still trying to understand this wood.

Al Hashimi - Walla Patta Tablet
Guava, avocado cream, mango, red grape, dry woody. yes yes yes.

OudBase - Hindi Supreme
Super addictive. sweet berries, hay, leather, chocolate. Rahel's new Hindi oil Hindi Sultan and this wood chip share a lot of facets.
Mmmm, yummy.

A bit of cultivated kinam on the subitism on the first real snowy day of the year here in PDX. Cozy...

Obsessed with this kinda design
Here's a pic of the smaller one. Glad you like the style. Blocks of soapstone. That's a hastily cobbled together heating element i made to replace a more elaborate one... this gets nice and hot with a little less wire. The smaller stone block doesn't handle the heat as well...
