I have some I haven't tried yet, are you using a portable or sub?
The Shoyeido Kodachi, it’s electric.

i wonder about that, indeed aroma most important thing but they do have woods with jungle names, however im not sure if they do too specific on it, need someone who dealt with them more to tell us 😀
I've translated the packaging and there's no detail on it, which I found to be very surprising but the quality is so good that I went ahead and ordered two more yesterday!

I think some of my woods have this scent. If we are talking about the same thing, that smell is really an obstacle to my enjoying oud. The woods I have from Baieido do not have the “unwashed human” element, neither does the cultivated kinam from ejayb, and these are really the only woods I want to heat these days. I am surprised how many random woods I have give smell off to me - maybe I am hypersensitive to whatever molecule it is. I had at least one wood sample where the core smelled nice and clean and the outer surface had the human smell, so maybe you are on to something
Mr. P. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by unwashed human element but I might be interested in those. I like the smell of cumin and sweat. If that is what you mean and you have some woods left over that you would classify as such, you should IM me. You can perhaps off load those to me and make me a smelly, I mean happy person🙂

Today I tried Crystal de Luna's wild Tarakan Agarwood chunks. I found a complete lack in personality from them. At room temperature strangely I smelled watermelon. I thought hopefully the plastic packing receptacle had been recycled and left the memory of it's last inhabitant.

No bubbling resin on the subitism. Which I won't hold against any wood if it produces a lovely incense.

It looks like other Tarakans in color. Not in resin, quite dry and sad. I looked around curiously to see if anyone else was on Etsy was selling. And Kai also in Singapore, the Charlie behind the Singapore Angels? Perhaps the secret head of some Singapore agarwood cabal? Anyway one can only hope. Seems to have the same stuff.

He had a picture that looked like those similar "Tarakan" the price was only a few dollars off. His listing also didn't really discuss the scent, with the majority of his writing dedicated to how to heat agarwood in general.

I'm finding that the stuff I'm getting from Singapore is all pretty similar, just pretty good, but mostly disappointing. A lot of hype and hoopla. I'm guessing people are getting kickbacks which is fine. If only the stuff was really great.

But I enjoy the art work. I will try again in the morning when my nose is fresher. Crossing my fingers!!

Until then enjoy the artwork and carvings ~
