A nice chunk of sinking Hainan, beautiful 😍
[Ouddict.com] Burn of the Day

Habz sinking sri lankan... good stuff. Creamy and spicy.

I'm noticing way less fruity notes in wood chips than I've seen in oud oils so far. It may be limited experience with burning woods, or maybe the distillation really brings out sweet fruit notes in some woods. Can the more experienced folks speak to this?
i have some and really enjoy that same wood.

As far as comparing wood to oil and with my limited experience i'd guess the concentration of oil is allowing easier detection of subtle notes as opposed to warming a piece of wood not to mention all the human interaction creating the oil.

Warming green AAA CK and sinking filipine

Al Shareef Oudh's Floating Mountains kyara sticks. The best thing I have ever burned. Still haven't found anything better so I just burn like 2 mm's from my stick once in a blue moon. Luckily the scent from the stick by itself is also very strong and beautiful. If anyone knows of something similar, do tell!
