Some interesting Filipino soil from Yusa, very sweet n spicy. Usually soil bores me, this does not.
This is what he told me when I asked last year or so.Purple shin kyara from kangiiten. Another nice cultivated kinam / kyara for a comparatively cheap price.
I’m a little bit puzzled by the designations green black and purple they all look more or less the same to me.
this is a nice smooth kinam type wood and it seems like a good specimen. I find olefaktory’s wood to have a more prominent floral aspect that i sometimes smell floating above the sweet oudiness.
My recent order was fragrant and room temp. Also heating some Hong Kong that came in the mail today, from Jing
There was a mixup though and the package sat in the FedEx facility in Oakland for the three day weekend and there was a huge Bay Area heat wave. I'm not sure if the package getting hot affects the condition of the wood at all but none of the items in this order were fragrant at room temperature, unlike most woods I've purchased in the past, especially from Jing. Anyone else have experience with this?
bro I actually have the Sizuro Vietnamese and the Borneo one also in my basket in whiterabbit from kohgen. At 3g for only like 5,500yen and they look pretty oily in the close ups. You recommend?I had to try each piece of yesterday’s haul.
The 4 packs (5 grams each) of Shoyeido Matsu Chunks contained 5 profiles.

From left to right,
2 pieces of solidly resinated pieces, fast sinking, smelled of medicine, wood, and roasted frankincense. I thought the whole lot would be like these that I tried yesterday, luckily, they are the only two😃
4 pieces that share a scent similar to my older batches, Borneo-Brunei likeness👍
3 pieces similar to the older batches, but leans toward an ethereal Indonesian vibe. I like this 70% only😏
1 piece Papua-like, weak, nothing happening here👎
2 pieces Walla Patta! No doubt! 👏👏👏
So…….I am actually happy with this purchase, and it makes me wonder what future packs may be like, what mix of regions will they contain.
I also got more packs of Nippon Kodo Sizuro Vietnamese, and I’m happy to report that the quality is still very good.
Some pieces have a little cooling effect and finishes a little spicy, although my favorite pieces are those that remind me of sweet Cambodian agarwood.
you are the KING of hoarding bro! LOL (I just realized this went to the wrong person so I am editing, this message was towards @The Scent Guru not @Oudamberlove)Heating Shoyeido Square Cut
There’s always variance from piece to piece, today it opens similar to Walla Patta,
and Philippine, but of all the Shoyeido I’ve tried (square cut, chips, granules, and kozutsu), I never smelled any Vietnamese agarwood, they must be hoarding it😀
I do recommend the Sizuro Vietnamese.bro I actually have the Sizuro Vietnamese and the Borneo one also in my basket in whiterabbit from kohgen. At 3g for only like 5,500yen and they look pretty oily in the close ups. You recommend?
have you also tried the Borneo Sizuro?I do recommend the Sizuro Vietnamese.
Yes, a lot of variation in profiles, but still good.have you also tried the Borneo Sizuro?
