Hirta for me tonight, nothing spectacular but decent.
did hainan today too, two different pieces as i always sayHainan Char
I haven’t heated Hainan in a few days,
so when the florals hit me
it made me smile with contentment.
Work of caution: either don't heat the wood above 170 directly on the surface or use the metal plate that came with it but even then don't heat it beyond 170 or so on the metal. The oils will start 'binding' with the surface/plate beyond that temperature and clean up will be difficult. I generally use the metal plate, heat up to 170 or so and then transfer the shavings to a mica and put it on the subitism heater.Broke out the YouYuan or whatever it's called, AlHashimi Tawi Tawi

Since it's ceramic I've been able to clean it well with a small razor and alcohol. I cut some mica to fit it too but the razor really does seem to get it all without marring the surface. Good point on the battery too. I need to use it more.Work of caution: either don't heat the wood above 170 directly on the surface or use the metal plate that came with it but even then don't heat it beyond 170 or so on the metal. Another benefit of this approach: the battery lasts longer.
Razor will leave scratch marks on the ceramic. Which is why I stopped using it. Sorry to sound so anal 😂 but even microscopic scratches bother me 😅Since it's ceramic I've been able to clean it well with a small razor and alcohol. I use a very small exacto blade and the surface doesn't get scratched as far as I can tell, so farRazor will leave scratch marks on the ceramic. Which is why I stopped using it. Sorry to sound so anal 😂 but even microscopic scratches bother me 😅
