I find Nippon Kodo sticks to be hit and miss, the basic 'kyara' ones are pretty perfumed and I prefer the cheaper medicinal ones. I have not tried the top shelf though.

I burned some baieido “Tsukigase” Vietnamese agarwood I picked up maybe 10-12 years ago. Nice solid pieces with a very clean and enjoyable profile. It does not as far as I can tell have any of the “kinamic” or what i understand to be sinensis notes. Pretty rich and complex scent .

a heavenly garden the size of the universe exploded in my nose!!

i wanted to visit another galaxy! heating 6 different kyaras! started at 150c with very thin and flat shavings of my favorite
green, white, purple, black, white and a red that is the only one fruity out of them all that has dark fruity and all i can say is this heavenly blaze and trance i feel and smell at the moment is the heaven of heaven. the effects are very relaxing and uplifting, bliss has skyrocketed and those feelings of gratefulness have flooded my senses. i wish i could pass it around to you good people

More sinking Walla Patta but this wood is from @Habz786 and the difference between this and the other almost identical looking wood is remarkable. The other smells good, this smells incredible!

Cultivated Kinam bead briquettes (scrap) from @wardlab These little pieces fill my office, seriously smelling good. CK hit's all the boxes for ambiance, just lacks something mental I only get with "wild" woods but that said, these are pretty darn good.

Burning Mindanao this morning on electric heater! On low heat, I get this opening smell of sweet mildly spicy woody beauty that makes me levitate, then it's all lactonic woodiness! It's odd but it's a pretty nice!
