I'm still working on this piece, wow I really enjoy this example!Brunei microcarpa, wow, I guess if I had more of this it'd be among my favorite scent profile, certainly distinctive. A generous sample courtesy of @Al Hashimi
Ever tried the goku-hin grade of the Shoyeido aloeswood? The sweet aroma of the raw chips penetrate through the sealed package.Shoyeido Matsu square cut
One in ten pieces are usually not impressive, but most are quite aromatic,
today’s piece was very satisfying.
No I haven’t tried the Goku-hin grade, nor the Take & the Johin either.Ever tried the goku-hin grade of the Shoyeido aloeswood? The sweet aroma of the raw chips penetrate through the sealed package.
Understandable, since the price of Goku-hin doubled after they ran out of their 10 gramme packets. I daren't even open the sealed packet much less actually burn a piece. Sniffing the packet is enough, those chips are explosively fragrant. From what I know Johin and Take is nothing to write home about, but from what you say about Matsu I'm considering getting that or Yamadamatsu SS so I don't just pile up inordinately expensive wood as collector's pieces and actually get more experience with doing Koh-do and listening to the scent. No I haven’t tried the Goku-hin grade, nor the Take & the Johin either.
its most likely Brunei/tarakan at least the package i have from them, and yea they are really aromatic..i might get myself another pack later.Understandable, since the price of Goku-hin doubled after they ran out of their 10 gramme packets.
