“I've been burning so little lately, at this rate I have enough wood for a lifetime 🤣”

I can relate. As I get older and I’m able to see the rate at which I’ve been going through things over the last 30 years, I’m realizing there’s some things that I just don’t need to collect any more one of them being SandalWOOD. Don’t even need to restrain myself much. I will never consume what I’ve got and I still have 95%+ of the sandalwoods and agarwoods I purchased 20+ years ago.

I also picked up a rikoku set (baieido) in 2006 or so and I have not made a dent in any of the woods…

Scarcity mindset taken too far clearly.

What the heck am I waiting for??

Burn more brother.

Open the windows in the morning do a nice deep fumigation.

Then put a nice piece on and do the wardrobe.

Make yourself a nice drink, sit on the porch and light a nice piece to study and enjoy.

Repeat routine before bed.

Enjoy it brother, it's mean to be enjoyed.

absolutely, I don't really save anything (clothes/scents for example) for 'special occasions' now - they rarely come and my life is fairly routine. The money's already spent, so NOT using them is the waste, instead of saving them for certain times.
swiping expensive oud 30mins before bedtime and missing the development of the scent? why not!

Burned some Nha Trang wood from Fushigi oud tonight - not very good, very little aroma to it. I bought quite a few various woods from him along with some oils - really like the oils but the wood seems generally void of much smell :/

Even if you fall asleep, the wonderful aromas help your sleep, so win win 😉

I’ve been burning a bit of the Vietnamese old farm from maunamoku. Very appealing and delicious scent. Am I correct that this is crassna wood? It has a very pleasant sweet and uniformly appealing profile, similar to CK wood not in terms of the specific aroma (though there is some
overlap), but in terms of the very sweet and generally appealing edible and smooth appetizing aroma, with the ability to shift to a more primal pre-char bitter-sweetness when heated at higher temps.

Very nice stuff!

Today I’m burning fast sinking wood from North Sumatra, Indonesia
Yummy powdery sweet smoothness with a touch of vanilla
They say the wood today isn’t t like the wood of yesterday but I still see massive trees and lots of sinking wood coming from all over Indonesia these days. The villages seem to have big trees they selectively harvest when they need to and protect them against theft until then

The past week, I've been burning a small piece of 'India wood' from Fushigi, really good stuff. I wasn't impressed by most of the wood I'd tried but this is enjoyable. I need to revisit the other woods, haven't burned them in a while.
hmm! Burned some Papua wood from this (non forum) vendor again today and was pleasantly surprised, getting lovely incensey wafts as I was doing pullups and dips on my gymnastic rings not too far away. The Nha Trang I burned the other day wasn't great, but some pieces are quite thick, and I made an effort to choose a thinner Papuan piece - well, I went to burn a bit, decided to weigh it and thought that 0.18g in one go was a bit too much 🤣
