Wardlab “kezi” sinensis wood from guangdong. Has a very interesting profile - pretty rich and saturated sweet oud scent, a touch of labdanum, also with a dry spicy layer. Much less innocent than a sweet crassna or CK wood. The aroma is ample - expanding to fill the room and from just a couple of small chips. The temperature is a bit higher than I usually use for a cultivated kinam or very sweet innocent oils.

The cat seems to be enjoying the smell, although he’s really just trying to lure me into the kitchen to get a little bit of the roast chicken that’s sitting in the fridge. If there’s a roast chicken in the house, this guy is the biggest pain in the ass.

Looks tasty!

Look at that gorgeous wood!

Kangiiten Brunei K

Overall, not bad, considering that most of it is heartwood material, and it does scent my room very well, had to get more.
Alongside Hindi, Bruneian woods are my favourite, I’m yet to smell a poor batch of Bruneian wood.
I’ve only heated a small amount of Brunei K but I do get the Kyara reference in the top note. To my nose it smells more like a spicy, dry fruits-indolic floral, musky, deeply Oudy sweet resinous Bruneian profile.
It’s very nice, I own many example of Bruneian wood & the aroma of Brunei K is of a high quality.

How does it compare to the previous batch of KZ’s Brunei heartwood?

Maunamoku ant nest vietnamese on the subitism right now. Very nice sweet crassna top notes and a bit of mystery / depth that reminds me of the smell of snapping turtle musk. Not necessarily an easy smell to know haha( I had a pet snapping turtle for a while there)

It is a very pleasant complex and earthy aroma and the trace that I smell in the heated wood really adds a nice character.

I have a sample of that and I agree that is very nice. My nose drinks it up.

I get 3 or 4 variances from Brunei K, among them, the best one is quite similar to the KZ premium heartwood, but not as potent. As for Brunei Floral, I haven’t tried that one.

So did I, but only a small percentage is similar, but some vendors say how wonderful their wood smells, even though it’s only a percentage, not the whole lot. Anyhow, I liked it enough to get 17 bottles.
Here’s a bit of an assortment from the jar I received. Enjoyable when dusted up on the ceramic heater.
