I am just gonna get a heater from aliexpress, you can get really good heaters there for like £150-200, I have Kangiitens portable heaer that is... okay, so far... but as soon as possible I am going to buy a heater that is only £40, it goes from below 50 to 400c, but I wouldn't go over 280c (probably max 230c) as there is plastic in it, so even 320c would possibly break it.
Which one are you looking to buy ?

I have this one and being using it a lot the past week 😁
I posted about its issue somewhere in the anticipation thread (cement smell? When it arrived new) but now after several heating sessions, I dont get this smell anymore

Are you using sinking chips on this ?
I used a lot of different woods (most of them from Kangiiten)

Kangiiten:
Brunei K
Malay tigerwood powder
Shin Kyara Golden Leaf Kinam
Pontianak

Maluku oud (aq. Gyrinops Molucana)
What an amazing wood😋

Maunomaku:
Vietnamese antwood
Cultivated Kynam

Sulaym:
Cultivated Kinam

I never hunt sinking wood specifically as (from my point of view) the term is like using kinamic smell in oud oils, a word used to triple up the price (Talking about the golf market).

Sinking wood does smell better maybe, dont get me wrong and it sinks for a reason but the price is too high for me as I am mainly after Oud oils. I rather get a 3-4g piece of the lot thats not sinking for 10$/g rather than paying 30 40$/g for a sinking gram.

Regarding the heater, the temperature range is just amazing. From 60°c where the CKs alrdy start singing to 200°c+ where some other ouds need it hot to blossom and bless the nose

Just ordered mine, Ill be sure to heat it a few times before I use it to burn off this smell if it's there...

I think I will buy this one instead of the cheaper on I posted, but I will wait on @TheOudDood to tell me if its good or not and how you plug it in (as in, is it USB-C charger or a plug that connects to it so I need to use a universal plug).
Its an USB plug like the one you use for your phone charger so its easy to plug and charge anywhere

Tarakan 70’s YA … love it
