I've got a houseguest so I've been heTing some maunamoku ant wood that i got a while back. Very nice sweet confectionery broadly appealing and sophisticated aroma. It's been a while since I have heated some of this. This is more of a special occasion burn as opposed to the CK I generally reach for

Green CK slivers I got last September/November and tried to use coal for them 😆, doesn't work, too thin, so today I took a tub and the Green CK slivers and emptied a ton out onto a piece of paper and started making them flat and not curled like they come naturally like. I still have this amount left
So I have a lot, and a little goes a long way as you can tell by this photo, this is how much produced a strong effect at 165c and I done a 1 hour session and it was still giving aroma, but started to drop in performance and started to give off silent notes

NOTES: Soft, kinamic, strong cooling mint, sweetness, creamy, milkiness, vanilla, vanilla milkshake and ice cream (slightly, more milkshake because of the milkiness), undertones of spiciness, some fleeting watermelon notes (I think anyway, didnt last long enough for me to be 100% sure), woodiness, some subtle chocolate notes, then as the hour went past the mintiness started fading and a decently strong spiciness came along that tickled my nose, and spices and herbs, with some earthiness...

I wonder what the next notes will be when I use it again. My Wild Kyara is in the country so should be here this week or next, most likely tomorrow or Friday, latest next Monday, but it shouldn't be that late, and I this CK will, again, grow old and get dusty 🤣... but named wild Kynam pieces I am getting will of course out bid it lmao.

Another pic of the CK:

Notes to my newbie wild kyara nose: Frankincense, fruitiness, pop cola notes that go between dr pepper notes because of the citrusy frankincense note, spiciness, cinnamon, semi sweet, little bit of sourness maybe (? not sure), resinous

Hainan Char

One of my most preferred aromas.
Cultivated Kinam is flooding the market, I wish Hainan agarwood was flooding the market also. Maybe the kinam trees grow faster and produce higher yields.
Oh man i need to reheat some of my Hainan, honestly this place have one of most charming aromas ever.
pure and gentle, such as lotus, plum blossom, goose pear, honey spleen yummm

Kangiiten Brunei K. Haven't really enjoyed this wood as much as other people have been claiming themselves but I now realise I simply hadn't got it hot enough on the other occasions. 224 degress and I can finally hear it voice! Lovely.
The correct temperature can really make a huge difference. I have some woods that actually smell kind of foul if they are not heated up enough

This is so true. Also why I've left the Brunei K alone for a good while now. I knew there must be more to it. Now I just need to remember this temp setting lol. @TheOudDood where on the same page today on either side of the world! Nice!

the blue or middle setting on the kangiiten heater seems to work quite well for this wood. I also cut it into tiny slices which ive found helps quite a lot.

True! 👍🏻

there’s def some that is legit from hainan and you can tell the difference.
It’s a big difference. But since almost all the stuff people are getting is from
Guangdong - sadly I think most folks don’t know. Probably wouldn’t even understand why one type smells different from the other. The other being the genuine Hainan.
