Trying out the Kangiiten Wild Merauke Asgon powder last night and now this morning. Lower temps were interesting and had me furrowing my brow listening to it. It was coming across as a spicy/peppery but not kynam pepper great smelling wood but not like an agarwood more like a hard wood. Pushing temps up this morning and i'm past that now and it's very strongly smelling of oud. Again not like an agarwood but actual oud with that thick diesel scent and the faintest wiffs of vanilla. Happy to have a full jar of this stuff as there is lots to unpack here.

Aged White (Cultivated) Kynam. Set heater to 30 min timer but I gave up and turned it off just before it got to 30 mins I think, so around 20-25min session.

Notes: Sweet, thick cream, milky, vanilla, creamy vanilla milkshake, spicy/sweet cinnamon, florals (mainly jasmine, I believe), honey, feminine perfume note (most likely result of florals/jasmine + honey and cream), real strong spiciness mixed only with the sweet (but still spicy) note of cinnamon, bitter, nutmeg, and potentially tonka bean

Overall it gave some psychoactivity which I wasn't expecting, but this is good white CK... and its a lot of it, so I should have haha.

I'm still going on the Merauke powder from Kangiiten. Ya know? I'm not sure I actually like it? Because it's an agarwood and not a Shin-Kyara I had zero expectations as to what this would smell like other than sweet and pleasant but I'm finding it's none of those things at all. Starting off it was pretty nice but as it's gone up in temps the spiciness comes to the foreground and there is very little else going on that I can find? It's kind of like sticking my nose into a pepper grinder and it makes me want to sneeze. Oudy numbness somewhat but otherwise sharp and unpleasant. Is this what Merauke smells like and I'm just not used to it?

BTW Kangiiten doesn't sell real Shin-Kyara, they label it that and its annoying lol, its just CK. You get Wild Shin-Kyara that is just as costly as wild hon-kyara. Anyway, I believe it is just a low grade wild Merauke made into powder, that is why it is so cheap compared to the wild Double Super Merauke 10g. I have some live harvest Merauke (and sure it can be a tad spicy, nothing like making you want to sneeze) from faizal to base my experience on and it is lovely, has oceanic breeze notes, sweet earthiness, candy-like notes etc.

Hmm..yeah..it's dificult because the write up description for those Super chips and this powder are exactly the same so I figured maybe this powder is from those chips having been cut up? Dunno? Maybe I'm missing something?

A. filaria live harvest. SQ Merauke harvested in the 90s - 220c - 30 mins burned all the aroma out.

Notes; Sweet woodiness, sweet earthiness, sweet like candy, chocolate, some oceanic vibes, bitter/sweetness, dark forest (clean and sweet/bitter) muddy, soil notes and fruity on the way out

Will experiment curled shavings, powder, and granules with this wood at different temps for the next year.

I was completely fevered for 5 days straight. Maybe a month ago? The only rational thought I had was that possibly all of my brain cells had cooked out.

A package from YUSA was delivered around this time. Which I immediately couldn't find and then, just when I thought I found it, I remembered that KANI is famous round here, for his mischievous and dastardly bent toward non labeling. Testing my compatency. Which I fail, my brain needs a reminder. HINT HINT.

I believe I have matched one of the mystery woods with an instagram picture. And yes I ordered it and should know what I ordered... but with my fevers and simultaneous electrical shock treatments knocking out short term memory... and some of these samples!!?

YUSA - HONG KONG SOIL!! Gorgeious dark choclate apprearing chips. After dinner mints, I would happily hoard. Mint without that CK cheap sweetness.

The powder would cost more if it was from those chips though, no?
For sure, but then why copy and paste the description for the two if they're nothing alike? I get that the oud smells very different but if this is what the wood smells like then it smells like shit. It wouldn't encourage me to spend more on the chips hoping for something better.

Enjoying one of wardlab's crassnas on the kodutu on the lower 1/3 of the heat range as i hang out in the shop today. Beautiful sweet honey, balsam poplar, vanillin, toasted wood, sweet clean piercing wood note grows as the oil and the resin bubble away and the fibers(?) start to shine

Green Kyara, heating it for 3 days now.
I'm using the Aliexpress ~90$ heater, and it was an excellent purchase.
I have the kioka and the youyuan heater, and this one is not inferior to them by any means.
if you are looking for a good heater with excellent price, this is the one.

Today I unearthed an old dusty agarwood time capsule from 6-7 years ago. Found some Vietnam skins, very respectable. A wild double super (labeled) Tarakan, and 5gs of one of my current favorite regions Pontianak, a specimen from a neat hand writer. A sweet trio that I blended with zeal and made a Hawaiian punch.

PS ~ Recently I've found myself craving Pontianak chips for my daily burn. From Ouddilicous. Just affordable, fun to blend, and play Barbies with.
