SMoud - Assam Sinking grade Oud (post distillation)

Smoky sweetness and leathery spice. Will be my last use of this. Can’t be sure what it is.View attachment 50347
Looks fake and there’s no way chunks of wood are “post distillation” material.

Maybe they took post distillation material and compressed it back together and added some aroma chemicals to it. That’s the most likely thing.

Few woods late night

Chenla - Nha Trang Tocbong - Laos Pusong

[Ouddict.com] Burn of the Day

Great regions with great scents! I want more of the tocbong i have, so hard to get Top notch Qinansis species of it like this.

Triple threat (CK + Vietnamese Platelets+ unidentified)

I’m burning 3 ouds. With the first being one I had but forgot about. I’m attaching a photo of that. Smells sweet, beautiful ambers. Smoky resinous.

Vietnamese: smoky resinous, deep woody tones.

CK: cherries, vanilla , Honey

Hainan slices. Smells like many high grade Hainan oils. Really good especially considering how cheap this wood was.
Does it smell any different to a Hainan CK? I feel like sometimes sellers, particularly on Etsy play on words a bit to make a sale. They might say it's a Hong Kong wood or a Hainan agarwood when in reality it's a CK because in Hainan especially all woods coming out of there are from a plantation ( unless it old stock in which case it would be more expensive). Hainan seems to be the home of CK these days. Does that make sense?

Yeah that makes sense and I believe Im familiar enough to discern the differences. I don’t think this is merely Hainan ck, or if it is, then it smells completely different. I don’t care for CK really at all and find the aroma a bit off putting to be honest.

You are spot on about the miswording and misleading info on etsy especially. So many things are being mislabeled, it’s unfortunate.

This is the wood in question and it’s likely cultivated hainan wood of some type but doesn’t smell like CK or kynam whatsoever.

Ive seen multiple other sellers selling this same wood for 10x the price, Uncle Kai and Crystal DeLuna being some of them.

I'm a little confused because it literally says kinam on the bottle and at that price it has to be cultivated. Maybe you have smelled some poor quality batches of kinam in the past? There are different colors and chemotypes and so on. The current batch I have smells much better than the first shavings I was buying. 🙂

I thought that was the one you were heating. You put me onto that seller a little while ago. I've got a couple of things from them in my cart but haven't made a purchase yet but yeah.. I have been confused about what they mean exactly because I don't want to buy anymore CK, particularly if it's mislabeled. I trust your nose though, so it's interesting that you're saying it smells like something else.
