An old Borneo piece from JDHawk

A beautiful aroma of a heady floral blend,
like Freesias, Hibiscus, and Jasmine G.
with some Mangosteen and resin.
JDHawk, now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. 🙂

I don’t usually post in this thread but today I am compelled to.
I was burning frankincense from ASO today on a mica plate on top of coal. I just wanted to try putting some civet paste on top of it. Just a dab from tooth pick. My God the aroma of it. Regal. Warm and lingering in the house for too long. Not sure if people burn civet resin like this but worth a try.

By the way that civet paste is the aged one HM royal civet from sulaym.

I had a similar experience (surprised delight) after sprinkling a little crumb of white ambergris on some wood chips I was heating. All kinds of things opened up that made sense once I experienced them but weren't really apparent in the unheated ambergris.

Sounds like a good avenue to pursue for homemade bakhoor
