Just trying out this Jinkoh Yosei by Gyokushodo after the Byakudan from Baieido (which was fantastic sandalwood scent for the price and 80 sticks, 10.99 for 80 of them and they smell better than some more costly sandalwood incense). The Jinkoh Yosei is really, god darn nice, it is Vietnamese Aloeswood with Indian Sandalwood and spices and stuff, but it feels like the aloeswood is the bigger player here, it is very resinous from the aloeswood, the resinous note is very pronounced, it feels like I have been burning some actual agarwood, with maybe a little sandalwood in the background to give it this creaminess, but ever so faint, these are the best in this range of sticks by Gyokushodo.

Ooh, wait a min, I smelled a stronger sandalwood note just there, its starting to do a funky dance between the resinous Vietnam wood and the creamy, buttery sandalwood, with some nice woody smells.

If no one has tried these sticks, I think you should, I got 25 5-6inch sticks for £14.99 from www.lotuszenincense.co.uk.

EDIT; stick is nearly done, around 5mins left and I can really smell the sandalwood being more pronounced now, and they haven't used cheap sandalwood like the have in their less expensive sticks in this range, it smells quite buttery, creamy, and a little woody, I think the sandalwood is in the front seat now after the resinous aloeswood is sitting in the backseat after being told he was too drunk to drive, LOL 🤣🤣🤣

I'm sure you'll love his sandalwood incense. I was going to grab that one, but decided to order a couple of his perfumes instead and see what he's up to.
Yeah, he's been doing some perfumes lately I see as well. I have a video on instagram of him saved of him making sandalwood perfume with sandalwood powder and oil, I have over 300g of Mysore Sandalwood and I can get 3ml of Sri Lankan sandalwood oil for £20 (private figure), which he said you need in the video, he adds a few drops but I am gonna add 15g of powder and 1ml of oil, the Mysore powder I have plus the Sri Lankan oil will be interesting as Sri Lankan sandalwood is a little different smelling. Here is the video if you wanna do it yourself: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvy0vC8IH9n/

Just got some Byakudan Koubunboku from Baieido going. Nearing the end of these 5-6inch sticks. Usually with Japanese sticks when first trying them out (except Shoyeido's Daily Range sticks) I need at least 4 when beginning my journey with them (these are with either normal Daily Ranges or Premium Daily ranges that I burn while doing stuff) and sometimes SIX, like with the Tensei, then I slowly or quickly only need 4 then 2, but never one. For some reason I always end up just needing 2 and 1 is always never enough. Haha. With premium sticks I use them like burning agarwood, I place a bowl on my bed with the holder inside then light the stick and waft it in my face. I shall be getting 6 old stock WILD Yellow Kyara (that look on the image to be quite thin and large, like around 7-8inches) for £60, so I am going to break 3 into quarters and 3 into halves and of course the KZ's Premium Limited Edition (high grade) Black Meat Mysore Sandalwood with a touch of ambergris, and Kangiiten's Purple Kynam (Shin - Kyara). I hope these 2 packages are at the floor at my door tomorrow or a support worker comes as the post man coms and wakes me up with these packages, ohhhwee!!!

The Byakudan sticks are so lovely, strangely enough, they have clove, cinnamon stuff like this and spies and medicinal herbs, but you dont smell those as much, its as if they have legit created an artistic stick that just push the high quality sandalwood to the front of the show, maybe just making it a tad more interesting than say, Minorien's Fu-in Sandalwood.

I made a post asking if anyone want to see me do reviews of stick incense, which I was starting to do on the incense subreddit before my ban (a new mod took over and now I am unbanned because it was an unjust ban, if people like @language scent posted pics of his Kyara's on there they would be watering at the mouth as my pics of agarwoods and cultivated kinam get a lot of karma, I actually think you should do that language and get 100+ likes hehe). So if anyone reads this, do you want me to do reviews of sticks? Sticks are my foundation of getting into this world of aromatics 😀.

Is it his limited edition incense sticks? These ones? - https://www.kangiiten.com/products/black-meat-mysore-sandalwood-ambergris-incense-by-kyarazen

If so, how much do you get in the 5g box approx? Like how much did you get, I am waiting on them still coming to the UK, should be here soon. But as it is nearing Xmas, I think it will come either just before Royal Mail is on break or just after. I cant waiiiiit!!!!
I did not count them but from what I can tell about 10-15 sticks.

Bhutanese Incenses: these are very nice Medicine Buddha, Luung-Poe (Soothing Incense), Zimpon (Gift Incense), and Tibetan Incense Mindroling Monastery soothing Incense.

Have some Jinkoh Yosei on just now. 2 sticks. It starts out with a resinous smell of the Vietnamese aloeswood used, I take that as having either very high quality aloeswood in the stick or some oil, but the stick is not loud enough to have oud oils in the mix, so I am going with the former. Starts off with that resin from wood, that is such a nice thing I have never experienced from an aloeswood stick. Last night or whenever I first tried them the resin scent was there for quite a long way through the stick without much of the sandalwood showing its head, I will see what these sticks do, actually as I am writing this it's actually playing a dance or a symphony of the aloeswood resin and the sandalwood, making the sandalwood less dry, which may have confused me last time I said anything about this stick on first trying them, saying the sandalwood just just at the end, sure the end of the stick (5-10 mins before it burns out) is the strongest sandalwood presence, but I do think there is a dance or symphony being played out where the majority of the stick the resinous Vietnamese wood with the sandalwood also being there in the background but hard to detect as sandalwood is normally quite dry, creamy, milky, gourmet and buttery. Not with these. The sandalwood is almost wet-like with a slight hint of milk coming out and somewhat dry woodiness that gets liquified by the resin of the aloeswood. I need to go slow and steady with these sticks maybe lighting 2 every other day instead of every day to reset my palate and do a full review while I burn the last 2 sticks 😀.

For now I will stay away because I don’t really want to be tempted to sell samples all the time. It really is a pleasure to help people get a whiff of high quality for reference. At the end I will probably end up with .2-.5g chunks lol

Main premium incense today was Shoyeido's Tenpyo, Peaceful Sky in the Horin range. Now, I believe every time I smell this, it has the basic normal scent, but each time there is a noticeable, quite noticeable actually, overall scent to it. This could be me getting used to the scent and its "opening up" to me, even if I do not use it every day, it still does this. The notes started off very sweet but no where near cloying, or sickly sweetness, it was soft, gentle and transparent sweetness, there was some creaminess to it as well, but not like say sandalwood, less woody more cream if I was to compare the two, but the woody element was still somewhat there, but not just yet... as the stick gained more momentum (maybe 3.5-5mins in) it took on a resinous aloeswood note, a very, very complex resin note, however. The resin I am typically used to in aloeswood (I use the word aloeswood to describe any agarwood experience I have had with this fragrant wood when taking about Japan sticks out of cultural respect) is usually quite, simple compared to this one, maybe simple isn't the word because no resin from aloeswood is "simple" but if you have ever used very resinous woods from all over the place you would know what I mean, basically what I am trying to say is it was somewhat similar to resin I have smelled from woods before but just more complex and (perhaps) more oily(?), it was more caramel like resin, or maybe that was oil and resin notes from the small amounts of (possible) old stock wild Kyara in them? Remember these sticks are only 2.76 inch but a tiny bit thicker than normal Japanese sticks and you get 20 of those for £34 (the coils can go for £54 for either 10 or 20, I forget), so my guess of how much old Wild Vietnamese Kyara it has in it from Shoyeido's stock (I am saying Vietnam because it definitely gave me that Vietnam wood vibe) is a wild guess from 10mg to 50mg, I do doubt there's more than Shoyeido's old stock Kyara in these than 50mg, I would be surprised it if actually had 50mg, I suspect more along the lines of 12.5-25mg.

The more I write about these sticks the more notes I can come out with, this time it was sweet, resinous, oily(?), and caramel, and of course half way through the stick there would be a weird just plain wood smell with those main notes in the background jumping in and out. I will also add a picture to the bowl I use for these sticks (I have only gotten 1 nub out of these sticks when I first used the Genroku, when they get to the and closer to the holder, I, now, gently pull the circle holder off and the rest of the stick burns and it feels like that part is concentrated with the woodsy smell and delight, the bowl actually has golden oil and resin stuck to it from the, most likely, Kyara ingredient in these sticks, and of course oil from premium aloeswood when I used the Genroku a lot, and I still have around 10 of them, I alternate between what ones I am in the mood for)

Here is the bowl with the oil (golden) and resin build up:

I am now burning some White Cloud(s) from Shoyeido's Daily range that has some basic aloeswood in it, not premium, if it was an incense house other than Shoyeido I would say that they are using really low quality nearly unresinated wood and making it into a okay smell, but I think Shoyeido with these sticks use a low quality wood but that is reasonably resinated, maybe mostly white wood though but they work their magic somehow (probably with their own oil stock and use a lil oud oil) and make it smell delightful, I like White Cloud(s) by Shoyeido. Fantastic how when I first got into Japanese sticks and went straight for these (this is the second time owning these sticks) I did not like these at all, now I love em... in moderation 😉.

I am currently installing Cyberpunk 2077 on my PC (haven't had a game on my good gaming PC in ages, I was playing Wasteland 3 but kinda got bored as it was a little grindy and have been wanting to play CP2077) can't wait to play it later on today (2:30am here) when I get up, and cant play it right now as I am having a double vision and blurriness from my inflammatory autoimmune disease (sarcoidosis) that mainly affects the kidneys (for me 90% of the time its the lungs) but I think its been inflaming my eyes and I get episodes of bad vision.

MTN, Jayapura. This is my last stick of Jayapura from MTN, and I have been hesitant to burn it. MTN is a phenomenal artist.
Who is MTN?
