Just done a wee session with Tenpyo, Peaceful Sky, by Shoyeido in their Horin line with a support worker that isn't used to any type of incense, and this incense has small amount (which equates to quite a bit since they are only 2.76inches) of Kyara, and he came out and said he was feeling really, really chilled out, as if he was stoned (though I am not sure he has touched any drugs such as weed, I dont think he has). You could tell he was a really relaxed, the way he came across, his eyes everything, and tbh, I FELT IT TOO. I still feel it, very relaxed, chill, and just, not much of a worry in my soul, I feel as if I am not sedated but less anxiety and as if my soul has had a massage. The scent was just, so so... lovely!!! Indescribable with just using 1 stick so far and I still have the Genroku that is a mix of spices and multiple high end aloeswoods (not Kyara), while Peaceful Sky has nothing else in it and just premium aloeswoods and a bit of Kyara.

I've just received a tube of pressed Kynam sticks and pressed Kynam small clouds from Nine Regions on Aliexpress. Have burnt both now and I have to say I really am very surprised and happy with the result. Both have the classic Kynam scent. Not overly sweet but absolutely no burnt notes either. Really nice and creamy. Both containers carry a substantial number and were more than affordable. Affordable enough that these could be burnt a lot more regularly than other Kynam products. Will definitely be buying more of these.

These looks like quality sticks!!! Did it have that typical, green, minty freshness? Or that "coolness" type affect, usually this happens either at the start when I burn my kynam, and green is especially minty usually, but doesnt have to be, the green kynam I got 50g of sliver of is quite cheap and doesnt have that full on minty, freshness, but a weak coolness then onto the sweet note of cinnamon, I dont use them often because I can get really sick of the sweetness, but the Black Kynam I got is 10/10. Those are the square looking sticks, I loved trying one of those with a batch of a hybrid kynam called golden kynam cultivated in Nha Trang, the seller gave me an a very old pursat and a sinking white kynam stick that was the square ones. I want to try more of those types of sticks, I dont know how the coils work, could you explain how you use them?

They're kind of warm and cool at the same time if that makes sense? The coils (ky-nam clouds) work just the same as a stick, they're just a different shape. They come with a little disck of carbon felt to place on.

Baieido, “Tobiume”. This was a free gift from Kikoh Incense. I am fumigating my house right now and it is lovely, not overpowering, with lots of unexpected nuance.

Description from Kikoh:
Displaying a most exquisite and subtle fragrance, Tobiume means "flying plum tree". This incense is an innovative blend of Agarwood, Sandalwood, Clove and Cinnamon that pays honor to the traditional incense blends of Imperial Courts of old. Absolutely heavenly!
Named for a famous plum tree in Dazaifu shrine, this Shinto shrine was built over the grave of poet Sugawara no Michizane to appease his spirit. It is said that when Sugawara no Michizane was cast out of the court in Kyoto, one plum tree missed him so much that it uprooted itself and flew to where he was. Today it is said that this very tree grows beside the main shrine and is the first to bloom each year.

Ahh, describe the warm to me? I havent heard of Kynam being described as warm, unless you mean spicy, or nutmeggy?
Haha! Yeah man, maybe I haven't tried enough good quality woods yet but with what I have tried I've never understood the whole cool "minty" thing. I have a very under-trained nose to be able to identify scents or put words to them. It smells more like a nice hud kind of warm not spicy.
