I have a ZhengLong ceramic heater, I dont mind losing some nubs of incense especially ones that small. The ones I will collect are KZ's, and other artisan incense which I have quite a lot of powdered KZ Black Meat + ambergris special incense he came out with end of last year because I broke a few by accident and crushed them and put them into a glass container, small glass container thing lol 😁
How do you find that ambergris incense? I don't think I have tried an ambergris based one yet, and it also usually sells out pretty fast. The other one I was looking at before was Nami no Sho by Gyokushodo. Is the ambergris noticable in the KZ one?

The ambergris is somewhat noticeable in KZs one yeah, but the black meat sandalwood used is super strong. It is like an oceanic super sandalwood stick. They didn't go out of stock too quickly but his oud limited edition ones did. https://www.kangiiten.com This is where you get his stuff.

Shoyeido's Premium Incense stick - Misho. A tiny 4.33inch stick that lasts for around 30mins, sometimes longer. It has a nice aloeswood note to it, not too woody, more resinous and woody in equal portions maybe? Perhaps slightly more resinous with its somewhat purple berry and green earthy note to it, while it is burning at the side of me on my smaller table than my computer desk. Sweetness is very prominent as well as a slight caramel note, I believe. Definitely an oudy fragrance.

Nice stick to put on and just make the atmosphere of a specific area of a room nice and comfortable before putting on KyaraShrine's Green Kynam Oil that lasts around 1 - 1.5 hours but has a fantastic profile.

Revisiting Shunkohdo Kyara Houzan

I’m down to the last inch of my sample stick,
so I have to make a decision…..get more….
or do not get more.

I’m liking this stick way more now than the last time I lit it (August 2021), I feel that it’s at the same level as Kunmeido’s Tokusen Kyara Tenpyo, although less spicey. There’s a touch of sweetness, plum, bitter wood, and tobacco. That’s how I’m perceiving it right now. So I called Kotaro to confirm stock, and since he can sell it by the stick, I can get a bunch without committing to a whole box.

Areej Le Dore - Russian Oud incense sticks
From a distance they smell amazing like russian oud 2. Up close they are too smokey and the smoke is overtaking any nice vietnamese agarwood I am supposed to smell and enjoy. Even on a bigger distance the smoke will overwhelm at one point. I really wish they didnt have the bambus stick in the middle.
This incense as bakhoor/balls for heating would be amazing

Its not for you if you like japanese incense/ smokeless incense.

I think its good for beginners or Russian Oud perfume fans.

First incense of the day is, Shoyeido Pride of Kyoto. Such a lovely stick, the aloeswood really shines, with that background green spice added to it. It smells, spicy, somewhat sweet, leathery, resinous and a light smokiness. Potent stick. Getting some notes here and there of berries, the green spice is definitely a dominant note and I feel like every time that note comes back, it is like a reset for the notes, as if, anytime you really smell the green spice smell then all the notes will come out again like a reset, which is what is happening right now, after the spicy it is now sweet, leathery, resinous berries, possibly purple berries, like you get with a lot of Malaccensis and Hirta woods(?). Earthiness is also another nice note combined with that gentle background of aloeswood (wood) note.
EDIT: Ohhh, I got a balsamic note???? Never smelled that before on this stick, or any other aloeswood stick for that matter. Nice.

Some Byakudan (Sandalwood) Kobunboku. Starts off with a nice sandalwood, wood note, with some spicy/sweet elements, lactonic/milky, and some butteriness. As the stick progresses it quickly clears up and is very crystal clear and cooling (borneol) and the stick just opens up more to the main note of sandalwoods. Milky, butteriness show up crystal clear, eventually turning more buttery and then creaminess sets it, creaminess and milkiness go in and out of each other, one min its lactonic next min its creamy lactonic, butteriness is quite stable. It is a sweet stick but also a slightly spicy stick that helps strengthen the wood-y sandalwood. It helps you feel at ease, at peace, and it isn't a quiet sandalwood stick, it is a nice loud stick, or well, loud enough anyway, and helps you feel inner peace without causing a sedated feeling, more of an uplift instead. The sandalwood is nice here, feels like Mysore, and the spices just do everything to make the wood they use, just work perfectly in this blend, and even though it is a blend, it is a sandalwood stick more than not.

Everyone should try these sticks, £10.99 for 80 5-6inch sticks? Bargain!!!

Starting the olfactory day (all I really do other than be on forums and PC stuff lol) off with the new, Prof. Incense Soil Ambon Agarwood sticks, 2 of them. They are quite small, around 4inches maybe? But they pack some of the strongest punch I have smelled in sticks so thin and so short, so much smoke. You can smell the coffee-like soil notes that aren't harsh in anyway, with a nice creaminess, sweet oudiness, somewhat so creamy it is like cream itself within a chocolate dessert of sweet soil (I know, weird to hear right?), and a nice earthiness, and the agarwood smell is insanely strong, from this Indonesian based soil agarwood material used. Very nice sticks, cant wait to get more from this range!!!

Soil Ambon again. Nice Indonesian soil wood, you can smell the soil but its non offensive, sweet, oud-y, grounding and for the very short amount of time they are lit, it just calms the mind and grounds you, maybe that's why they gave me so much lol (40) so that I can keep grounding my chaotic thoughts.

Very nice sticks. I just wish KZ was more into a tiny bit more filler and that reflected onto the student. Oh well, less filler is more fragrance I suppose.

I'm going to say my incense of the day is one I have created myself and nailed it. I have used about ten grams of semi-spent Kangiiten Shin-Kyara (green) and about thirty grams of Australian very finely ground sandalwood powder. I put it through a peppermill to blend the two and threw in two teaspoons of Shoyeido makko powder and two small Shoyeido bamboo charcoal squares also ground up. I'm keeping it as a loose incense to use in my stencil censer. It's perfect! And it burns REALLY slowly, so I reckon it kept going for close to two hours!
