Burned some Baieido - Kun Sho Premium yesterday and it’s from over 10 years old batch. Very nice and very different than when new. All the herbs and spices and camphor come off very light and the wood and resins are much more upfront. I have always liked Baieido incense much better with at least 3 to 5 years of age and it settles down the spices and camphor. This is very pretty but I wish Baieido wood today was more like it was over a decade ago but those days are long gone.

Burned Yi-Xin Sabah tonight and it’s has a nice denseness to it but a little too musky for my taste and not nearly as complex as Suko Oud offerings but very resinous smelling and nice. Don’t think it’s worth $30 for 10 sticks that are 4 inches. His pricing is strange and many of the offerings don’t make sense for what is in them. Very hit or miss for incense from Yi-Xin. Never had a bad one but a lot of the time you wonder why less priced things can or are better than more expensive selections. The non agarwood selections majorly don’t warrant there price and some are more than agarwood selections and don’t do it for me. I only get agarwood selections from there and have learned in general to not waste my money on non agarwood selections that don’t come up to the agarwood things and they may be priced similarly. It seems like a lot of the cost is in the manufacturing and not as much in ingredients. I will still stick to the agarwood incense from there. Just my 2 cents on Yi- Xin

I'd love to try some of his sticks..or any for that matter but I can never justify the cost. $39 for a 2g tube of incense turns into $60 AUD with another $30USD for shipping on top of that and suddenly i'm up for over $100 AUD. It's crazy, so I never buy any.

Burned some some Kin Objects- Red Soil today. 20 sticks that are 8.25 inches long which is basically 40 sticks at 4.1 inches that most craft incense makers make. This was $46 with no tax and free shipping and I counted 23 sticks and so it was more like getting 46 sticks. $1 a stick is a very decent price for incense of this caliber. Their Red Soil and Nha Trang are by far their best stuff and probably the only things I may repurchase.

My Kyara Kayou is the Tokusen, and it’s very good, the Gokuhin is certainly a notch better, wish I had a box of that one two, I searched for it 5 years ago but no luck.
Yea many of the old stuff not being made anymore, not sure which year they stop making them.
Recently i came across list of ther stuff from 2014 with ther prices... from that time stuff were expensive.

High end Kyara sticks that discontinued hard to find "like Tokusen tenpyo, old NK stuff etc"
Even Seiran now so hard to find and they haven't stopped making it long time ago...

Burned some KyaraZen - Dreams of An-Nam today and it’s seems as if there may be some musk or something else added because it seems more animalic than just the wood musk. It’s strong and dense but not the kind of style I prefer from Vietnamese wood. It’s good but too much musky note and not enough sweet and ethereal notes. Very earthy and almost dank. This is another reason why I prefer herbs spices and resin mixed in to a blend to bring other notes and dimensions to a scent.

Nippon Kodo Tokusen Kyara Kayou

I’m so impressed by the binder formula and crafting of this stick. The binder is not even noticeable for me, and the density of the stick is perfect, very light, but enough to keep the stick from easily breaking, resulting in an ideal burn temperature and burn rate.

As for the aroma……………🥰

This one still being made or they stopped making it?
Also how is the Shunkohdo top line "Seikan, Aoi no matsu and Houzan"?

Tokusen Kyara Kayou is old stock, no longer produced. Kyara Seikan has too much reiryo koh for my taste, almost like Kunmeido Kyara Tenpyo/Tenchi. Kyara Houzan is great IMO, the spice blend is in my top 3, at room temperature the sticks have a green oil kyara smell, but I think Shunkohdo stopped making it, however, some stores still have it.
