I should correct myself, Sigma-Aldrich does sell it, as a research chemical and in mgs units. lol, I don't think a couple of mgs is going to modify or add to a natural fragrance.

Found 50mg @ 700 usd, above that is considered bulk.. 1ml Boswellia papyrifera should have roughly that same amount and is a tad cheaper 🙂

Minorien - Fuin Kyara. This has grown on me so well. I have a small pack of these and it's perfect to light any time of the day. The blance of bitter-sweet note, and with that minorien signature works perfectly for me. I guess the kyara in this is pretty scarce but it's still a very well put together stick.

let me try this variant. the last time i got an oud incense, it was last christmas as a gift from an Asian friend. and boy I never looked back.

Yi Xin Craft Incense: Devdaru - "A Tiger in the Celestial Forest" (October 2023)

"Specially processed, premium Hojari frankincense, Malaysian Tigerwood & our "Stanford" Cedar".

Very pleasant blend. Agarwood quietly supplying the base notes, while frankincense and cedar swirl overtop.
Resin from the Tigerwood gets a slight lift from the Hojari and the Cedar dries it out just enough to carry the scent higher.

Tennendo Byakudan Enku (Sandalwood)

One of the higher quality sandalwood used in this, got some interesting notes out of it this time. Also felt like a cousin of Santal 33 at one point. Worth experiencing for Sandalwood fans.

For yourself mate, I would not be worried. Iori is a huge connoisseur who has been listening to incense for a long time. His tastes are very refined.

That’s depends on person to be honest.
My biggest issue with it it’s aroma and another thing.
I remember the ones I sampled from wushangge were cleaner and more true to hainan than this even though it had red soil etc mixed and more pricey.

Now I wonder about his new ambergris sticks if it were as good as the one released with Silk Road, that one was stellar!

Both Dreams of An Nam and Dreams of Hai Nan are excellent sticks. Dreams of Merauke is a must have IMO. Any of the sandalwoods are all good. I also love Eight Milleniums. The two kyara sticks are sold out.

Kikujudo Koboku Ginmi Kalimantan. Nice and simple stick. Very clearly agarwood with little binder and no perfume.

Kyarazen White Ambergris - Very well put together stick. Marine, creamy, uplifting and light at the same time. Also get a dark mossy vibe a few minutes into the stick. And all being operated by aloeswood in the background. Congratulations to KZ on this one.

EO - Ganju Laosan - First time trying a stick from the brand. Very creamy sandalwood and citrus notes giving me a spicy, woody lemon curd/ lemon cheesecake kind of vibe. Interesting, but a little confusing... Might gel better when the weather warms up.

Best ever Tarakan in my collection.
Superb binder blend which includes charcoal.
It’s like heating Tarakan oudh.

I miss his truly artisanal creations.
