Took a sniff (not a swipe) of EO original Royal Kinam. To this day, no oud oil in the Kyara emulating ones gave me the same sensation of olfactory satisfaction (aside from Kyara Koutan) as much as EO Royal Kinam (bought in 2011) did/does. It has such a sweet sugary top note with a drizzle of an elusive green kinamic ether that makes me do my best trying to grasp it with each inhalation. I'm actually happy I didn't take the audacity of buying a bottle of the newer Royal Kinam for the exaggerated price it commands and the fear of getting it depleted too.

@Oud Of the Day-- KAMLANG from Oud Oil India is a fragrance you don’t want to miss. From the very first whiff, it introduces itself with refreshing top notes that are beautifully minty, offering an invigorating and crisp start. This lively opening gives way to a more complex and earthy heart.

As the scent develops, the middle notes reveal a fascinating blend reminiscent of Deer Musk, adding a warm, musky depth that lingers on the skin for hours. This powerful, yet balanced muskiness enhances the fragrance's complexity and makes it incredibly enduring.

Finally, as the scent settles, the true essence of aged Hindi Oud starts to take center stage in the dry down. It unveils a deep, woody richness, evoking the essence of aged oud in all its glory – smooth, smoky, and incredibly long-lasting. This final stage is where the fragrance truly evolves, showcasing the craftsmanship and quality of the oud used.

Overall, KAMLANG is a scent that journeys from refreshing minty notes to a sophisticated, long-lasting oud experience. If you're looking for an oud that balances freshness with rich, earthy complexity, this one is a must-try!

People write some great reviews around here!

I just put on a swipe of @mesOUD 's ANAS. Maluku distilled in September this year (really? That was September? Time is so weird...)

Powdery, richly oudy, I can see the orris notes people mention, and as
i understand it this is an oil that hits the "purple" button for those inclined towards this kind of synesthesia. In fact going forward this will be my benchmark purple since I don't get that color synesthesia at all, dang it. Purple perceiving people: please set me right if I am wrong. It's also my benchmark/ reference Maluku specimen.

Beautiful material thank you mehmet.

Why did you use ChatGPT to write your review?

Why did you use ChatGPT to write your review?
How can you tell that's ChatGPT? I see people making comments like this over at basenotes as well I don't understand. I see something like this and I assume somebody is sharing their thoughts and took a little bit of time to format it. Totally naive?

You can tell by it’s signature:

“Overall, KAMLANG is a scent that journeys from refreshing minty notes to a sophisticated, long-lasting oud experience. If you're looking for an oud that balances freshness with rich, earthy complexity, this one is a must-try!”

This right here is a dead ringer for chat gpt. You see it everywhere. However with basenotes there’s a unique signature in the way each person writes their flowery reviews. It’s a hallmark of individuality yet what I quoted here IS ChatGPT’s signature. Anytime yoh see this kind of writing in this exact format it’s AI. They even asked it to highlight and bold out certain keywords. ChatGPT reviews always read as sales pitches and never exist from a first person lived experience. It’s always from the experience of why someone would love it, the setting they would enjoy it in and the kind of person that should experience it.

Does that

Does that mean I can give Gemini or Chat GPT the name Royal Kinam and ask it to review it?

Does that

Does that mean I can give Gemini or Chat GPT the name Royal Kinam and ask it to review it?
Absolutely. I’d imagine you would need to give it some basics sentences or a structure to follow like “Royal Kinam is the pinnacle of Oud and smells sweet, bitter, and is rare” it will then spew out an entire Adcopy on why it’s the perfect choice for those who wish to be daring on a night out.

Koh Kong 2010 from Kymya/The Attar Store.

It's a beautiful mix of medicinal bitter, minty and honeyed facets with the deep Cambodi red berry aspect, but I swear I must be anosmic to something in this oil, every time it gets to the heart there's this strange muted effect where it seems like I'm always smelling around the center of this oil.
Where is this website? Kymya/The Attar Store ?My googling doesn't return anything.

I am bewitched with OUD psycho activity from RISING PHOENIX's ~

Taktsang Ateek 1949 Bhutan - Bhutan / Tibet Border Oud Oil - 75 Year Old Dehn al Oudh - Ateek Series

With oudiness, Tibetan incense, sang grasses, spikenard, tiger balm, and gaseous honey. I cannot stop huffing my arm.

Enchanting, the story it's namesake and region, The Monastery in Bhutan - Taktsang. Legendary to Buddhism. Even as recently as the 60's Chogyam Trungpa wrote one of my favorite books of all time after receiving a message while meditating there ~ that he must try to expose spiritual materialism and all its trappings, otherwise true spirituality could not develop.
🙏🏼❤️👍🏼

Emperor of China by Jinko Store

Have not worn this for a while but it still blows me away. I still find it hard to describe its aroma.

Piercing, honey, Cinnamon, light cherries...I get this cooling feeling from it. It's sweet but I get a sense of some bitterness underneath, like Chinese herbs drenched in honey. Amazing oil.

Pinoy oud comes from different forests in the Philippines. Their flavors ranges from cheesy and soury to mandarine and sweet, laotian notes and in the same path as some of the best Cambodian woods you have smelled so far. The premium pinoy pieces are resinous and you can easily see the resin crystallized on the woods surface. They are also black from the inside out. They gained so much popularity in recent years because they started selling within a somewhat reasonable price range. As the eyes of the consumers turned to them, they skyrocketed in value to the same level of Cambodi and Burmese woods. I had the chance to buy some of those super black super heavy pieces when they were still affordable to some extent, but I feared venturing into a territory I have no previous experience in..alas...

Very interesting, thanks for that.

Hello Ouddicts 🙂
Today I found the time to swipe 2 oils from Al Hind Oud

AHO Fridous 💨🥤☘️🍂🦌 🌾 🌊🏝💦
AHO Lao gold 🍐🍏🍯💉🌼🪷🏥

Fridous opening with a resinous cannabis petroleum ultra top notes !
A blast of fizzy kind of cola with musky effect !
This oil remind me a lot Silani OG, I get that special Silani signature of Oceanic breeze I almost earrings the noise of the waves coming to the beach ^^
It’s lightly cleaner than Silani OG and also more delicate…
If Silani OG is more masculine then Fridous is more feminine
There is a grassy even hay soothing note that I love …
After some time this oil remind me Adhrijaya mineral addicting note sea salt water 💦 with a special dry woodiness
I think it’s one of my favorite silani oil honestly…
Indeed I like tropicaly Silani oils but this soothing Lankan oil is perfectly balanced Mashallah

Lao gold
The opening is honeyed pear and apple notes that I found in some high end sinensis oils …
At first I was thinking Kham lao or AA lao gold … but it’s way cleaner … not so much hay and bitterness here isn’t sweeter and more focused in the Fruity / Flowery featuring
Kind of sweet medicinal note with a particular cleanliness …
I like it even more than Kham lao which was my initial favorite laos oil and then Lao 4k …
Lao gold sharing a kind of melted Sweet honey from a sweet flower with Apple and pear juice … with a piercing note of hospital ethereal smell

Lovely oils
Thanks brother Mohammed
Mashallah 🤲☝️
