Suriranka Senkoh and Wilpatu Raja
The last swipes from samples🙁

SS is fantastic, clean cut. An isolate of beauty.
WR is spicy, metallic/mineral, with fruits of banana and green mango.

I love WPs, but I had to reach for yet another swipe, this time from an oil/region that is so satisfying to me. Assam Organic Meghalaya :X3:

Blisssssed🙄

Malay Cola (LMK): Today I received the package from brother Farid. The first oil I wore is Malay Cola. Strong incense oud oil. Malay has always been my favourite oil because of multi-aroma synergy. There is some note that reminds me of Ceylon oud flare. No doubt, the cola is what has given Malay oud a new touch. Sweet and sour touch! Aroha (EO) that is famous for smokiness, that smokiness is here but very decent, light, and gentle, and this silky smokiness keeps pace with all other notes exact from beginning. End is yet awaited.

If I had not been informed it is just a Malay Oud, I would have said that this oil is a blend of Malay and Sri Lankan Oud oils. Free from animalic, fecal and barn notes. Very clean. Loving its pungency that I always consider the integral part of an A class Oud oil.

Thanks a lot, dear Farid.

Morning swipes:
My Filaria blend on the left,
Inderapura Encens on the right.

IE is aging like a real champ....almost gone are the smokey notes, add a little vanilla in the opening, this oil deserves to be aged for decades. Wish I had more than one bottle.

Well, as if I’m not oudified already, I had to swipe another aromatic. My best Siberian Musk macerated in Ali Sandalwood oil (very high ratio), 4&1/2 months aged, layered with some ASO Ward Al Ta’ifi (This time, I just touched the outer dipstick without pulling the dipstick out. That left just some tiny amount on my fingertip to layer onto the Musk swipe). One sniff and “instant bliss!!”

...Both great oils, similar but not VERY similar.CS from start is quieter, smoother than NI.NI has a creamy melon undertone and projects a lot more but doesnt last as long as CS.With that being said i think NI is not only young but i think the oil is still settling to my enviroment, ive had several Hindi samples that really dont impress me until ive had them for a few weeks sometimes months.

Ty for sharing your impressions. What a wonderful journey is Oud discovery and appreciation. Interestingly I have quite the differing views. Contrary to the above, and respectfully speaking, I really don’t find much if any similarity between these two oils. NI is much closer to Taha’s lavanya and kalyani. And as you correctly said melon (lychee and other more tropical fruits to my nose) in NI, But i don’t detect any fruit of any kind in CS. CS is more root vegetable and closer to the soil surface profile while NI is up in the canopy. Also NI has a tobacco (specially cherry molasses shisha tobacco) quality to it. I find CS to again not have this note. Few other minor ones but mostly to me the biggest difference lies in the energy they transmit. That buzz. That kinamic like vibe. CS has it and has it in spades. Ditto Hindustan 1 and ditto shah jahan. For the record at this point in time CS is superior to other two oils in this sub category. Maybe an age thing. Maybe material. Maybe technique superiority or maybe all or done of the above. TBD.

Anyways back to it, CS is in my humble view in the category of shah jahan. Not even the technique and higher elevation material of the great bahadour gets to play here. NI is a very pleasent oil but to my nose and value system is just barely worthy of its imperial name. To be fair the price is right though. Only the naming is not. And again that’s the opinion of one sole person who could very well be a one of thing. Afterall I am no hindi expert. Mind you this genre of Hindi I dig and I dig hard. Got me some extra Hindustan 1 for the future. And really waiting to see what other respected distillers have in stock for us.

And forgot to say I 100% agree with you in regards to projection vs. longevity of NI and CS.

Enjoy the oils. Mine are calling. Gotta go see which one is calling a bit louder. From sounds of it is Hindustan 1 calling. Brb.

so hindustan 1 last night worns under the nostrils resulted in a 9 hour sound sleep! scent of high elevation grazing fields. images of high country Switzerland from childhood memories springs to mind. i dont get blue lotus but i still agree that the colour of the scent is blue.

Sri Pada (Siddhartha) by IO: Wearing this sacred Oud oil makes me feel meditation is to connect and then live the highest most reality, not just to achieve physical and psychological well being. Therefore, I always name this oil Siddhartha. Transcendental in being down to earth. This is not just soil-y and jungle-y, but Earthy. It possesses all what the Earth presents to man. Sublime in nature.

What is its aroma? Probability is limitless. Just wore, and the olfactory got the high dose of LSD, and panoramic aromatic visuals were all around. If I had smelt only this Oud, I would have been an unconditional lover of Ceylon Oud. This is the Oud that doesn't let the dead and deadening techniques and equipment play games with it. Always 'wild', both literally and symbolically. The aroma is that much beautiful that it nullifies the longevity syndrome, for me. No need to have it for hour and hour. First wink is enough to turn the crush to love.

PS: I macerated Sri Pada and Musk. That is the seventh dimension.

Habzoud Alnamar,

I sniffed the wand then applied a swipe...sniffed again and again...went back to the sample vial turned it up and down left and right to look at the story I couldn't find one.

There's nothing pretty here only Malaysian oud resin as such.

Oud Habib I call it, already a legend...
