Since this is a new unreleased oil from Agar Aura I’d suggest you contact Taha for details on scent profile, etc. I feel a bit awkward commenting much about as an unreleased oil other than there’s a video on AA site to show the grandma tree agarwood being ground for distillation. This is Beringin subspecies from island of Seram/Ceram. Relatively low yield of oil I’m told. Highest grade/ quality distillation from AA to date. The wood, high incense grade, was worth more as heating wood but Taha just decided on whim to powder it. Your nose and brain will immediately connect with the grade/quality level. It’s about 90% consolidated at this point and now a cornerstone and benchmark in my collection. I hope that helps.
Couldn't have said it any better ... it's a prized possession

Sorry guys and girls for being away so long. I was busy with stuuuff and thiiings 😀
Back to my favorite online group of people!

Oud of the day is Sabbah Beginning by FO. If I really liked it before I love it now! Soo clean but complex and deep at the same time. Dear Joe I am so glad you sent me this sample, it is really really wonderful.

What have you been up to everybody, any new exciting oils to try, what are the most exciting releases in 2019?

I am waiting anxiously as I will be receiving my bottle of Yaqoot next month and then I want to try those new wonderful sounding
chinese ouds from RPP and Imperial Oud and then...who knows 🙂

It wouldn't be right of me to miss out the sample pack of the new Mellifluence blends which I am excited to try. Should be a nice couple of months in the olfactory realm!

Let me know what you think of IO Hainan Imperiale if you try it. I've been captivated by it since it arrived a few weeks ago. It's my current favorite Chinese Sinensis of the ones I have.

That's exactly the one I most want to try from IO! Will definitely let you know.
The only other chinese oils I have tried are Hainan Arabi and the first Fragrant Harbor (which I adore).

It is nice how different seasons seem to bring a craving for different types of oud!

Preparing my stuff to go back out into the abyss.. Oh how I'll miss all the Oud in my room.

I have Kanz, Ibn Zamrak, and Ceylon Santal swiped on with some Brunei on the burner before I bid my farewells to human society.
The desert?

Well, that's what most people call it. I call it Alkhadras Nightmare. You know, most people talk about how they miss going to the beach and feeling the sand between their toes.

Meanwhile...me:
