Lol, it better be a winner at that price
Levels/relativity/perspective. Granted, Ensar offers numerous oils for less, and every once-in-a-while, great values do pop up, BUT as far as 100% wild, artisinal agarwood distillations, I THINK USD $295/2.5 grams is the low-cost end of the spectrum. Even some "artisinal", aged, cultivated plantation wood distillations are saddled in this price point. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe I AM wrong. Although I have interest, I have yet to invest in Habz of Al-Hashimi.

Oh sorry my bro, I mistakenly read Koh Chang for the recent Koh Kong. What a dummy

RBO - Nam Nao, Vietnam
it is yet to release oil but I got it as a free sample.
it has a typical cantaloupe-like Vietnamese scent profile but that's it. pretty linear and boring. :Coffee:
"not impressed." if I put it more politely.
maybe I'm being too harsh on it... sorry Ish. I like you but this one is not my taste. 😳
Edit: it is Vietnam. Not Nam Nao.

Am trying yet another Toni Bolton wild Oudh today at work... Aromasublime's Wild Exquisite. Very beautiful...fruity, damp moss, green, forest just after a light shower of rain. Reminds me of his Elixir Oudh....such a lasting fragrance...

[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Al Hashimi - Kambodi Katheef (1998 Wild Koh Kong, 2016 Organic Trad)

Due to the tar-like viscosity, the projection of this oil is pretty weak(at least until it warmed up). I can sense it only in about 5cm away from my wrist.
It opens up with intensely dense ripe fruits and boozy scotch whiskey, fermented birch that leans toward animalic genre.
this opening penetrates nostrils and left zingy feel up in the nose as if I drank warmed up hard liquor.

I'm not so fan of this kind of ripe fruits and hard liquor smells. so I generally don't like Trad oils. I prefer floral, tea-like quality in my Thai oud oils.

but there's something in Kambodi Katheef that draws my attention.
once my nose gets used(or exhausted) to this opening and the oil warmed up by my body, I get an apricot-like delicate sour, sweet aroma. the projection get better at this point.
the zingy liquor-like aroma is still present but it is barely noticeable. the oil stays this way for around 8 to 10 hours.
I don't get an extra effect which I'm looking for in oud oils from this oil but the smell is pretty enjoyable.
