Thanks to Jay I’m having a mini Oudfest!

Galore 2020
I liked the first version
and this one has an added prettiness.

Cultivated Kinam wood
Very similar to Kevin’s Kinam,
Kinam is certainly a wood apart from regular agarwood, I think it deserves it’s own classification

Indo Sandalwood
Great off the stick, will swipe at another time.

Wild Sri Lanka
There’s a barn similar to ASO’s Ameen,
the soak brings out more from the wood
that gives it a rich classic feel.
The sort of classic that screams
incense grade materials.

Cultivated Kinam Oil (steamed)
Kinam Rouge, meets Fragrant Harbor,
meets Hainan Imperiale.
A very Hainan vibe, with a touch of Vietnam,
and progressions that make it
kinda multifaceted.
I’d love to study the oil
age the oil,
swipe and enjoy it too.

I don’t sense any short cuts
or cost cutting,

Right on Jay:handok:

Had another sniff off the stick of
Olefaktory’s Cultivated Kinam Oil
Narcotically potent!! Zoweee!!

Swiped TajOud Imani.....
Is it Artisanal? I’d say yes.
As I’m constantly smelling the swipe
memories of Ajmal’s Dahnal Oudh Al Moattaq
keep surfacing in my mind.
I’m so elated:Inlove::Inlove:

A Sylheti oud that almost smells like Cambodian/Tahi at the start. Then shapeshifts into something from Manipur (Assam) ouds - honeyed leather, hay, warmth from inside the jute-bag of wheat, shavings of garjan wood (that I recall when carpenetrs were wokring at our old house). Finally it dries down like a typical good Hindi oud - imagine you put on some Hindi chip at low temperature in room and came back after 40-50 minutes - leathery and resinous (=> oudy) smoke.

Nha trang ltd on the hand and nha trang kyara on the heater

Just smelled some nice oils from ejayb. A solid root oil Indonesian sandalwood, a steam distilled oil that is Thai I think - all kinda of layers and dense resinous scents there. Additionally a Sri Lanka oil with a tasteful amount of fermentation and a nice piquant complex spicy woody dry down. Really quite nice.
