“Spring wind”
A while back I bought a small sample of this kinan from my favorite source in Japan… when I received it and heated it, a new world was revealed to me. This is the kinam of kinam! The leap of differences and lack that agarwood next to true kinam, is what this piece does to all other kinam i have ever been lucky to smell. So I spent a small fortune and bought this giant star
The notes presented here are in no way connected or able to be described with any of the known aromatics that I have witnessed, I honestly can’t describe it. It has changed my life I have become more obsessed for this piece than I was ever before for anything else. The best I can say is to try to describe it is that there is this super oriental, silky, extremely alive, heavenly, golden, red, purple, green, blue, pink, silver, electric, uplifting blissful balance and vibration with a complexity fold 100x more than any other agarwood and kinam I’ve smelled. it that has changed my life so dramatically that not a day has passed that I have not thought about it and whenever I hear it I get emotional and feel I do not deserve it…I mean there are way better people than me on this earth yet I’m the one who has it. who knows maybe it’s going to be a curse where someday I will no longer be able to enjoy these things for some health reasons so I am being teased by the gods at the moment. Even if this happens the fact I have witnessed it and still have it are enough to seal my whole journey. So I have stopped hunting ever since. There will never be something better, if almost 4 years now I have not found anything to come even close to this then there is no more need to search and hunt. Holy grail of holy grails!
The strange thing that I witness with this also that I have not witnessed in any other kyara is the room temperature aromas complexity and shift. When first opening the vial and and smelling it I get these Chinese silky vibes type aroma that are acidic kinda and kinda sharp and flowery then 5-10 seconds later that I have inhaled all the air from the vial the aroma changes so much and goes light spice charm, honey, flowery bitter with a different pronounced note that is more yellow and red than the purple-blue-multicolored opening when first whiff is smelled.
the wood has a strange feel to it when i cut it with the razor. it is like a semisoft texture but can feel within every other millimeter tiny grains the size of needles point as if there is crystalized oil alongside the oil. i have a couple that have the same texture and these are the best ones as far as aroma goes and also potency. what is strange is that in the world the really soft ones are said to be the best quality but it seems to me it plays not much of a role when speaking of aroma or potency of high grade kinams.
I feel as if, if I lost all woods or if I was robbed of my woods but this one was forgotten and not lost stollen, I wouldn’t care I would be happy and parading if it’s security. The crazy thing tho of this whole topic is that all the woods and kyaras in my collection I absolutely adore and feel extremely lucky for the top 10 pieces…yet they are all dwarfs next to this and this new level of aromatic witness is extremely dramatic and shocking to me.
I wish so bad that I could stuff a kinam heater and gather around with everyone on this forum and pass it around, the wood is so potent everyone would be able to meet and realize it’s extreme complexity.
The effects are shocked feelings and awe. Happiness and extreme feel of gratefulness
And the irony of it all, it is the biggest chunk of kinam I own. So my favorite of all time is also the biggest of all my collection. Seems like a dream.
