Has anyone had experience with Santal Inperial(e) from KZ? I got a bottle (3g) and it's very nice!!! Very unusual sandalwood oil, and it's made with real wild mysore blackmeat. I've done big fat swipes of it 2 or so times, maybe 3, and it's still a full bottle, I think its viscous for a sandal.
Mysore Antique 1989 by CraftOud is spectacular too!!! I only wore it for the first time last night (because I have lots of sandalwood oils... lots) and it opens up with this amazing super silky smooth, sweet, slight honey, milky, slightly creamy, buttery, gourmand notes, after about 10-20mins the milky notes go right beneath a real, thick, soft and smooth creaminess (soooo thick), with a big increase in this honeyed type of sweetness blending with the milky undertones, and a hint of beautiful musky notes. As it develops it takes on this amazing, beautiful, sweet balsamic (kinda resinous) creamy VANILLIC notes (that now persist until full dry down, now I know I am deep in the mid notes becsuse of the strong sweet, honeyed, balsamic, (creamy) vanilla note, that then transforms into a pure ecstacsy of creamy vanilla ice cream and thick vanilla milkshake. I'm going off by memory so some things may not be in 100% order but it's roughly accurate the way this Mysore Antique 1989 oil developed. There was a nice soft, gentle, powdery, jasmine, note in the undertones (noticeable only when really "listening", but its my first time wearing it, so more notes will reveal in time) throughout and after the mid notes, all the way to dry down. Deep into the mid notes I also got a beautiful, sweet, subtle caramel note with an absolutely gorgeous note of creme bulee (VERY similar to KyaraZen's black meat sandalwood from the Shivamogga region in Karnataka, very identical, which makes me think that Mysore Antique 1989 is mysore and Shivamogga distillation) Gentle, elegant, soft, woody sandalwood "sawdust" notes are present very subtly throughout the top and mid notes then become more, "centre stage", at the base and drydown. And of course this oil is very buttery and feels like a baker, and it is softly spicy, IIRC, the spices reminded me of cinnamon.
Mysore Antique 1989 - CraftOud is a masterpiece sandalwood. Now I can't wait to try An Najwa's 1960s Govt Mysore sandalwood 0.5g he has kindly reserved for me till I am back on my feet. I can't wait to try that oil. I want to try and make the 0.5g last me 2 years, so I think I will only put on 3-4 swipes once every other month, as it is very special.
NOTE: If there is any typos, please forgive me, I am writing this on the ouddict app on my phone, and I'm better at typing on my computer.
