120g of Manipur wild “king Muri” inbound , got it from a friend for a very good price. Will use some of it to make an old incense, 1:1:1 of powdered Indian oud, brown ambergris, and musk. All kneaded together with heat then left to rest.

Some Kyara's I got from brother Kosmas @language scent and a nice big chunk of old harvest Vietnamese heartwood (also will show you the wood I got from JK, that I still need to figure out the amount to put on, and I wasted some of it last night being in a bad mind space, I think JK's ant wood is very nice but needs a little more than the other vintage woods I have or something idk, need to try it again soon)

Just arrived, I tried a small sample (maybe 0.05g) on cool coals and it started bubbling almost instantly. Very resinous! Half the chips are 3g+ , cleaned very well. I’m a little noseblind today so I couldn’t figure out the smell, but it’s definitely smoother than other Hindi I’ve tried, stronger but smoother if that makes sense. A little on the floral side too.
I checked them out and separated them by weight.

Don’t mind the ikea bags, they’ll be replaced

A bunch of Thai oud samples, some from ancient trees. + MAMY ruh khus 1, Malik shmama, ruh gulab, and 5 attars from ML Ramnarain.

And in another package 4 Hindi chips samples from imphal and nagaland, and hindi+burmese oud oils. From a new dealer (fingers crossed hoping it’s not painted plywood)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله brother 🤝
If you’re someone who likes Khus, I highly recommend @An Najwa
His Khus is custom distilled according to his standards & is by far the best I’ve ever tried.
From the commercial houses, ML Ramnarain is nice but still behind An Najwa. Even for rose oils, An Najwas’ Gul-e-Muhammad shines like Sirius in the night sky.

Thanks for the recommendation, I ordered the ones I did because I wanted to experience the classic ruh khus from those houses. I will order An Najwa’s ruh khus inshallah later, I just checked their website and it’s out of stock. From your review and others’ it seems like a very good choice. How does it compare to the ones I ordered?

You can drop brother Jabir a message here or Instagram.
His 2020 batch must be out of stock but he has a 2024 batch from the same distiller & smells just like 2020 minus the aged appeal.

His Khus flows in extremely smooth & refined, an indication that it was cleaned & washed well prior to distillation (No dirty earth notes)
It has a menthol like coolness and spearmint like sweetness (Well balanced & no sharp notes)
It’s complex, long lasting & even luxurious when compared to commercial Khus.
Has a beautiful glistening emerald tone (I’ve noticed the better smelling Khus are emerald & not bottle green or brown)

Commercial houses can’t achieve such a profile as they need an enormous amount of supply.

couple of rose absolutes, and a bottle of Madagascar vetiver. i havent tried rose absolutes yet, ive been doing co2's so im curious. ive been liking my other floral absolutes more and more. i think i prefer them to steam distillation because they're more resinous and less green. easy to mix powerful blends!

There's a lot of variety in rose absolutes FYI and the really good ones are not so easy to find! I felt mesoud's centifolia absolute was really juicy and appealing. Also fraterworks sells a select grade of Bulgarian from Peyan Bertrand for a reasonable price - quite a bit more saturated and engaging than the Alteya absolute (which is nice this year). Eden's roses have been mid grade in my experience but I haven't tried any from them recently. Perfume Supply House has / had a really nice rose absolute (turkey) from Robertet. Really surprisingly nice notes came out of that one in a blend or two.

i might pick a couple of those for next round! im going for the uncommon ones: by-absolute and "trilogy" which is a blend of 3 countries roses

The PB oil is worth getting just because it really reminds me of the best i have smelled over the years. Fraterworks also have a rose "ultimate extract" which is extracted from the flowers leftover post-distillation. It is very thick, viscous like vetiver, deep brownish red, jammy and very rosy with some unusual accessory notes. Also quite cheap because it is from waste. It is not "ultimate" in the sense of the best but "ultimate" as in the final thing that can be extracted after the whole process.
