Oud chips, oil and sandalwood oil from babgladesh
Nagarmotha and ginger lily EO
Jasmine sambac, oud oil, sandalwood oil and patchouli oil from RKsons

I promised I’ll start saving next year, hopefully this is enough.
Curious to hear about those RKSons oils. I have several batches of their sandalwood - it is all OK but some batches have odd notes. The thing that is strange is how cheap some of the rksons absolutes were last time i checked. Well below "too good to be true" prices for some florals.

My An Najwa order just arrived two days early!!🎉🎉
First and foremost, thank you to every vendor who’s ever sent me a sample!! That’s how I ended up falling in love with and buying the rose I just received. I’m over the moon with excitement. It’s quite cold here and I can’t wait for everything to come up to room temperature after being outside so I can remove the caps.

I just ordered the smallest samples they offer to check it out, I’ve heard many mixed reviews, some worshipping them and some saying they’re low grade commercial oils. I’ll post here when they arrive and I try them.
Did you go back to their sandalwood you purchased? Sometimes companies like this will ship their latest distillation , and that can smell bad because it still hasn’t aged.

$1.60 per gram for jasmine grand absolute just can't be right. Blue lotus even cheaper... their grandiflorum concrete is more expensive than the absolute - $29 for 10g. Makes no sense.

The sandalwood still has the same aroma - none smelled young and a couple were quite nice.

@YusaAromatics in the house!

Finally a rose-ambergris fragrance (Ward al Bahr), it's sparkling rose.

For the samples, Musk Osmanli is a rich and beautiful composition which took me by surprise. Patchouli Cola was OK, though I was hoping to sample Ghaliyah al Wajd.

I got this from Kangiiten from the help of a kind friend, fearing that this specific piece of the Hainan would go out of stock, since it is the best looking piece left that is in my price range, and it looks really densely resinated, very oily, quite thick (I will show you a picture of that on its own), so I really needed someone to help me get it because I knew someone would snag that up before I was able to get it with my money in January. And has anyone tried the Santal Imperiale? If there's a bottle of the Santal Reverie left by January the 20th, I am definitely buying that as well, just to see the differences. I heard the Reverie is more sharp and pungent, with more of the woody notes, so I went with the Imperiale since I like my sandalwood nice and smooth. I think (and this is me just guessing here) that the Reverie is an oil with the full terpenes that make it more piercing and harsh/pungent and woody etc (not a bad thing, just different scent profile). Whereas the Imperiale has the terpenes stripped out and is more of the classical high grade sandalwood oil (as it is made with Mysore black meat). If anyone has tried these 2 oils, let me know what you think of them, even if you've just tried one of them. Also has anyone tried the Black Meat Sandalwood Shivamogga? It looks seriously dark. And I finally got the shaving knife for the agarwoods for my kinam heater, shaving powder is kinda difficult with just a sharp stanley knife as they come out in slices sometimes and you lose a lot of wood doing it this way, so the shaving knife will definitely come in handy with some harder woods and harder kyara's like the 1.2g black kinam I just bought and waiting for brother kos to ship it tomorrow which I am really excited for, as well as the 1gram of Manaka I am also getting from him, that I will post a picture of.

Picked up a bottle of Taifi Classique (thanks for the samples) in my search for a rose-ambergris fragrance (there aren't many out there). Sampled it last night, the taifi rose isn't as citrusy as I expected it to be. Instead, it has spiciness and a powdery facets (my family said that my room smells like talcum powder). It seems to project well and lasts quite some time on my skin, becoming more musky as it dries down.

Have you tried ward Al bahr from yusa?

15lbs of Ethiopian boswellia sacra incoming for distillation in small batches!
That's fantastic I'm sure you will make some wonderful stuff out of that!

me too! im wondering though if it might be mislabeled as "Sacra" if its from Ethiopia? probably boswellia papyrifera. no matter what kind it is, its sure to come out great 🙂
I was wondering as well. I'm sure it will be lovely.

I love my Boswellia carterii resinoid as much as any oil in my stash... would like to get my hands on a carterii distillate one of these days.

I also got some resin from Aden once that was just amazing

Frankincense is such a great material for the DIY extractor I think - you can make amazing tinctures, distillates with some ease (i am told), and there is lots of potential for pyrogenic / dry distill / captured smoke type oils too.

Funny enough, I actually did! But honestly, it doesn't compare to Taifi Classique. I tried it out with two full swipes, and the scent projection is just OK. I guess the Kashan rose scent isn't as appealing as taifi rose and I prefer spray perfumes as well.

Musk Osmanli is really nice though, a rich and complex scent.

That's good to know. When you next get the chance, get ghalia al wajd and lmk how it compares with musk osmanli. I personally love ghalia Al wajd so it'll be interesting to get a different perspective

I've got a proper wood grinder coming, such as you often see in mesOUD's video's of him grinding wood to powder. Except this is a mini version. I don't need a big one as I'll only be doing personal sized batches of wood, 10g, 20g etc. I'm excited for this as it'll be very easy to clean, and can go through some sandalwood chips I have without killing the motor or blades like I have done with the old coffee grinder. I've been reading there is a bit of a trick to them though. This is a serious grinder and can get hot quickly which you don't want with heavily resinated bits of wood so you have to do it in bursts. @Goodness Nose did you end up getting one of these yourself? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DJ2T5MZV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

One more trick mate,i am sure that u know, but no harm in repeating.
U can grind ouds easyly, but sandalwood is very hard and you easily fold or break the knives (i did 😂😂)
Before grinding sandalwood, Chop as finely as you can before grinding

Are you grinding for incense making? Distillation?
