One more trick mate,i am sure that u know, but no harm in repeating.
U can grind ouds easyly, but sandalwood is very hard and you easily fold or break the knives (i did šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚)
Before grinding sandalwood, Chop as finely as you can before grinding
Someone else had said this to me but it is definitely information worth repeating to avoid making the same mistakes. :praying:
@Mr.P it's for incense making. I've finally gotten the knack of my wood to binder ratio's for a smooth extrusion.

That's good to know. When you next get the chance, get ghalia al wajd and lmk how it compares with musk osmanli. I personally love ghalia Al wajd so it'll be interesting to get a different perspective
I requested for a sample but didn’t get it so I won’t be able to provide a review.

Got some sandalwood from Kangiiten on the way as well. I got the last 50g container of the Premium Yellow Red meat granulated Mysore and I went for that deal of 2 X 50g containers of the Premium Black meat Shivamogga bead scrap. Great deal on that and I'm looking forward to making my own premium incense out of it. Yum!

I've got a proper wood grinder coming, such as you often see in mesOUD's video's of him grinding wood to powder. Except this is a mini version. I don't need a big one as I'll only be doing personal sized batches of wood, 10g, 20g etc. I'm excited for this as it'll be very easy to clean, and can go through some sandalwood chips I have without killing the motor or blades like I have done with the old coffee grinder. I've been reading there is a bit of a trick to them though. This is a serious grinder and can get hot quickly which you don't want with heavily resinated bits of wood so you have to do it in bursts. @Goodness Nose did you end up getting one of these yourself? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DJ2T5MZV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
now we're the three bears. we have small, medium, and large lol

How are you gonna make it thick enough for skin wearing? Usually frankincense oils are very, very thin, and used mainly in diffusers or tea light burners.
Curious- Why can't you wear thin oils? Nothing thinner than an Eau de Toilette after all...

For a thicker frankincense you could make an ethanol extraction and evaporate down to the desired thickness, but you will have to deal with stickiness.

My large Teone Reinthal order inches closer to destination.

It arrived in the U.S. Thursday. Friday DHL informed me it needed proof of my Social Security number to clear Customs. It gave me a list of acceptable documents but no way to upload them or contact a human being. If you ever find yourself in similar circumstances, open a MyDHL account and file a case. Then call the 800 number and request not a supervisor but customer service. Supervisor bad, customer service great. Then I had to provide the physical address of Teone's manufacturing plant, which Teone had already provided in triplicate. Paperwork complete, my packages cleared Customs only to go to the FDA for another inspection. Presumably they passed, because I received an email saying customs was cleared but no delivery date was scheduled.

Ah, but MyDHL account says the packages have moved from LAX to Wash/Reagan. I'm hoping for delivery tomorrow šŸ™‚

That's an insane amount of information they needed! The only thing they've ever asked me for is, Power of Attorney to negotiate customs on my behalf.

I did go through a long process with them not releasing an oil because they thought the word "chips" in the name referred to some sort of food item, and them not understanding how a liquid could be sold by the gram. I usually call their brokerage services and I've had great success with the customer support people there. In the case of the mystery of the "red chips" I explained to her it was just a name, and aromatics are often sold by the gram, like floral oils by the kilogram.

Even after that there were two issue, one related to the word "trad" which is a Anglicized form of "trat" but spelled in Arabic, though a "da" sound is used, they though it was a typo of the word "trade". šŸ˜‚

And lastly they thought I was importing some sort of relics because the name of the series was "luxurious collectables", and I explained to them it was just a marketing gimmick. Worst of all, they made me re-type out the commercial invoice, it was quite the interesting whirlwind they took me on. And the entire time the package was in Canada, easily for over a month.

Thanks for the updates, and hope you're graced with your package tomorrow SophMarie šŸ€

These two points are hilarious. Was this in the U.S. or elsewhere?

This was in while it was in Canada, specifically at Canadian Customs. Actually I only found out this was the issue because I called DHL brokerage services and they outlined the reasons Customs was putting it on hold. I wish this could have been communicated by myDHL express or in some other manner but I'm thankful I was able to find out another way. On the tracking page I recall it only saying "Shipment on Hold" or something something similar.

@SophMarie @Ahmaoud

Wow, is this common in the US & Canada?…
In all my years of dealing with DHL from within Australia, I’ve never once had a single phone call or email, let alone a request for all that information. That sounds like an annoying ordeal just to get your package into the country!

@Olfactory Nomad - Hey mate have you had any issues with customs & DHL?….

It's never been too much of a hassle Mousse de Chene, the Power of Attorney thing is essentially a form emailed to you, you check a couple of boxes and hit submit, and it's done and dusted. I'm not sure why it's sometimes needed and sometimes not at all šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Still I prefer DHL, they've never delivered a package to another address, here's looking at you FedEx! And nor to they send you letters in the mail asking for customs or brokerage fees, *cough* UPS *cough* FedEx ... šŸ˜‚

The shipment page is remarkably unhelpful. It still listed my packages as being in Los Angeles. I would not be in such a good mood if that were the case! Also, DHL never acknowledged receiving the first half-page of my tax return (for my SS# -- my SS card appears to be lost). So I kept sending it, and my case never advanced. It wasn't until I talked to the lovely customer service agent who told me that I also needed to send Teone's physical address -- which was all over her packaging. So I did, and that's when the process finally worked.

All that stress will be worth it in the end! I haven’t sampled any of Teone’s perfumes for a long time, but I’m sure her work is still excellent.
I’m might have to grab a discovery pack soon!

I totally believe this! They wanted a performa invoice completed, with an explanation for the reason of import (should have put the reason as Ouddiction šŸ˜†), and asked me to email it to them. Two days pass, I call an agent, they tell me they haven't received it, and I get a portal to upload the performa invoice to. But then she told me she could see what I had emailed, but asked me to upload to the link.

ā˜ŗļø The reason for the hassle is on me. We have an import limit on liquor, perfume, cigarettes, etc. etc. Because I'm normally a careful spender, I've never come close. Or even remembered there was a limit. It's been a long time since I've traveled internationally. But I've fallen for Teone Reinthal's fragrances in a big way. When she returned from a month-long vacation I made a big purchase. If I'd been thinking/aware, I could have made two smaller ones šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Here's a money-back guarantee: If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you šŸ™‚

I’m always very impressed with the service DHL provide. If given the choice, I’d rather pay more than use FedEx. Like you mentioned Ahmaoud, I’ve had a couple of issues with FedEx.
The Power Of Attorney doesn’t appear to be a big deal, however all the information poor SophMarie is having to provide DHL is ridiculous!
Given the large volume of orders I received from DHL over the years, I’m surprised I’ve never had to provide any documentation. Fingers crossed I won’t have to.
