Ahem. Changing the subject, all my packages from Teone Reinthal have made it through Customs and into my hands. I'm swimming in natural perfume and related goods. It's birthday and Christmas put together. Life doesn't get better than this 🙂

Curious to hear about those RKSons oils. I have several batches of their sandalwood - it is all OK but some batches have odd notes. The thing that is strange is how cheap some of the rksons absolutes were last time i checked. Well below "too good to be true" prices for some florals.

The RKsons just arrived. The oud AAA was good, spicy deep dark woody. AA is similar but has a vetiver like green earthiness, and a resinous smell akin to bouya, still not bad.
The patchouli is a cold deep dark earthy and slightly sweetx
The sambac is nice but mild, narcotic floral with a fruity sweetness not far from unripe mangos. It’s not as heavy in the nose as the one I got from Eden botanicals, I orefer Eden to be honest.
The sandalwood is not bad, it’s very clean smelling with no off notes that I can tell, medium creaminess and some mineral notes.

These are just first impressions, I’ll try them out more in the coming days

sometimes we collect it ourselves, other times it is delivered by a courier.

A package from @mesOUD arrived today, filled with goodies both expected and unexpected. There was the Sandalwood NTT that prompted the order. I've been so envious hearing you all praise it. Well, you aren't wrong. It's every bit as good as you say: strong, spicy, with a hint of cream. And very long lasting. Love it already. The kind of scent you close your eyes and just inhale for awhile. Then Sandali Gulab, because why not? And Fusun, a jasmine attar. I was wearing three different fragrances when the package arrived so the NTT is the only one I've tried so far 🙂 There are also two small packages of wood, Sintang and Bangka. And some samples that look like Lebanese Frankincense, Myrry, and Smart Oud incense. But Mehmet will have to confirm that for me.

All in all, a lovely package!

It's my first ever order of incense materials and I look forward to enjoying them on my subitism heater that will arrive in a couple weeks. The larger bag of frankincense is mesOud's royal green hojari, but I'm not sure what the small bag of frankincense is as it appears to be a generous sample of mesOUD's choosing

I have a tola of @mesOUD Mysore sandalwood on the way! Been meaning to get a little bit of this ever since i sniffed it. I would actually love to have bought up everything he had of this and then use this as the basis for the Sandalwood in my perfumes, but I'll take what I can get.

Pretty good actually. I can get my nose right up to it and give it a good sniff. Smells like the ocean. Fresh and breezy.

Aliexpress bottles arrived! Pretty good quality, one of them fell from my table onto tile floor and didn’t break. They're airtight too. Got them in 4 sizes.

got the Cadco set up and ran some boiling water tests to see how accurately i can control the temp... wow this thing blows everything else I've tried out of the boiling water! this is going to let me get my new still to the exact temperatures i want within a 1°f tolerance. on Monday i should be operational again.
