I/2 gram each of grey/white and grey/gold ambergris from Apothecary’s Garden
Small samples of Malay and Merauke from Oudique (I can’t afford the samples set but I’m sure I’ll end up even working my through them all eventually).

One of those ambergris is going straight into one my new patchoulis. Probably the
patchouli cola from Yusa. It’s already so deep and smooth i just want that depth to open out even more.

I would love a basic perfumery sample kit that included things like ambergris, vetiver, patchouli. It would probably need to include a couple dozen scents, good quality, .5 gram each.

Yeah I have recently decided recently to do more perfumery and I have just had to get a bunch of materials from different vendors.

It’s fine though. That way I get to pick exactly what I want to buy from each vendor and I can try to get the best of everything. I have probably ordered from about 6 different vendors recently to get perfume ingredients.

For me the worst part is not being able to buy small amounts of things. I was able to buy half a gram of ambergris from apothecary’s garden, and that’s actually one of the reasons I ordered from him and not Celtic Ambergris or something.

By the way if you’re interested I think apothecary’s garden has an animalics sample set with several animalics in it.

My issue is that they came in the form of oils infused with animalics. Maybe convenient as a sampler but it also takes up space in an oil based composition and I would rather macerate into sandalwood or something instead when I intend to use sandalwood in the perfume anyway.

.5ml of Frangipani otto from Aroma Sublime. My last purchase for a while. Absolutely cannot wait for this. I have the highest hopes because I already love plumeria absolute. Total FOMO purchase. The sale helped tempt me and helped offset the shipping. I just calculated that with what I’ve spent on shipping alone in the last few days I could have bought a couple of mls of top grade sandalwood or 1 ml of a good daily wear Oud. Oh well, just a reminder that this website is accurately named.

Have any of you heard of Annette Neuffer? She's a jazz trumpet player and singer in Germany, and self-taught natural perfumer. The critic Luca Turin has called her the best natural perfumer in the world. (He's a snob who looks down on natural perfumery.) Her catalog sounds wonderful. Three weeks ago I ordered a full set of 30 or so samples and today they arrived!

I may be up all night smelling them. The first four are fantastic.

That’s a funny coincidence to me because the only frangipani I have ever tried is the otto from aromasublime, and I am currently waiting for a frangipani absolute.

Received my new Subitism heater from @Aroma Sublime today! It looks just as gorgeous in person with the wood construction and there are some very nice samples included with this batch of Subitism heater! Some of these woods that Pierre's team included seem like Woods i would otherwise never have the budget to experience so i am filled with gratitude. I admit I was a bit impatient and emailed the Aroma Sublime team a couple times during the delivery process but they were so very helpful and patient with me. I have never ordered anything from Vietnam before so now that I understand the travel time and process better I will be more patient in the future!
