I have had a short conversation with Farid and he informed me he is safe and well and taking personal time . We all need to look after ourselves the best we can during these hard times and it’s important to redirect our focus once in a while to keep ourselves on a clear path.

Yay! My little samples of musk are in the u s. I plan on sampling straight to get an idea of what pure musk smells like. Then I'll put some in with the small sample of 5% with sandalwood to make it stronger.

Usually takes one or two or more sniffs to get what it all about with this thing called musk.... 🙂

I got a gram of each. Will definitely share thoughts. They weren’t crazy expensive. Maybe we can all send them in a circle as a “sample pass” for people who are curious.

I've got Rising Phoenix's Ant wood Malaysian pure oud oil coming. JK mentioned he had it at the oudfest. I don't remember it but there was a lot going on. The reason I purchased it is I just burned some ant wood from him and was blown away by it. I'm continually amazed how oud challenges and pushes my likes. I'm a heavy oud guy- this wood was a light, sweet floral but sweet and floral in ways that it is hard to reference other sweet and floral smells in the world to compare it to. Really excited to be living with this for awhile.

The same experience happened with an oil from Oudimentary ( I think). I don't like that musty smell from things or rooms that were exposed to moisture at some time. Yet here was something similar and I kept sticking my wrist on my nose. This oil somehow managed to stay on the intriguing side of musty. It was more about damp forest- the decay and richness that went with it.

Hopefully by Monday I should be getting
osmanthus attar, musk rose attar, and a bundle of khushboo agarbatti from Rising Phoenix. I've had the attars before but I'm geeked for the incense. Always liked a nice Indian Masala.

Tried getting some of olefaktorys cultivated kinam but that kinda fell thru. So I settled with some wild vietnamese agar from habzoud. Settling is kinda harsh, as I'm still very excited for it.

Lastly I'm getting some vanilla and blue lotus absolutes from an etsy seller called violetglassforever on the recommendation from a fellow ouddict.

Very jazzed for all three orders.

Hey! I'm currently waiting for some 80s Mysore granules from Zaza Haus, hopefully should be coming next week, DHL is pretty quick in my experience. I was waiting for them to go on sale at Ensars' but they sold out 🙁 But anyways this'll be my first time burning sandalwood, cant wait! Anyone have any experience with this one?

How did the sandalwood shake out? Price seems very nice for old stock.

It was pretty amazing actually, notes were cream and sweet wood, very mature smell. But I haven't smelt any other sandalwood before, so I wouldn't really know how it compares to younger/cheaper sandalwood.

I've got 3 oils from Tajul Bakshi coming from India. Really curious to try these non soaked Hindis. Have some white and brown ambergris coming eventually as well. Also have an order from Maison Anthony Marmin that was supposed to arrive last week but UPS seems to have lost it in Canada so I guess we'll see what happens with that.
