I have some blue lotus oil coming from EOApothecare on Etsy that I am very excited about. Has anyone here tried anything from this vendor? She also has some oud oil that I want to try at some point, and many other aromatics as well.
I am particularly excited about the blue lotus oil because she laments the lack of real blue lotus available, and claims to have found some real blue water lily, which is the one mentioned by Egyptians(and is a water lily, not a lotus, despite the common nickname). There are no true lotuses that are blue, only water lilies. Nymphaea caerulea is the real Egyptian blue water lily, and the one that people in the know wish they could find(like me).
I have some "blue lotus" oil from Ensar, and I have tried a "blue lotus" attar from JK, but I think it is safe to assume that neither Ensar nor JK have legitimate blue water lily, and they certainly don't have real blue lotus (which does not exist). I know they are not nymphaea caerulea because JK calls his attar "Thai blue lotus", and Thailand is where the fake nymphaea caerulea replacements are grown. If you want to see what one of these fake N. Caerulea flowers looks like, then just look at the picture attached to Ensar's "blue lotus", that is the fake kind that is grown in Thailand.
If the woman from EOApothecare knows what she is talking about, and is telling the truth, then this is a rare find and I am excited to try it. "Blue lotus" from Ensar and JK both smell great and I am curious to see what real N. Caerulea is like. I can only hope that it is actually what she is claiming it to be.
