I had no idea Rosemary had chemotypes, well at least in being used to describe the essential oil, naturally as soon as I see the word "cineolic" or "cineole" as in this case, my curiosity is peaked!
I have found the “verbenone” chemotype to be my favorite!

I remember that too.

I may be new here friend, but I am by no means an amateur when it comes to oils. I trust my nose.
oh sorry- i didn’t mean to imply you when i said new people- im saying this for the benefit of other new people reading who do not have experience with oils.

glad you’re happy with your purchase friend👍

still would not trust the seller personally and am sharing so hopefully others who are less experienced and new wouldn’t make that decision or at least have added context before doing so 🤷‍♂️

Reading more about this, it seems chemotypes are a means to scientifically qualify environment conditions during the plant's cultivation (holding the species and genus constant). This is perfect, because it's the mechanism I needed to quantify descriptors such as "high altitude". I never quite understand how one verified if something smelled like it was "high altitude" or not.

As an aside, it's truly mind blowing that these environmental changes can alter the aromatic compounds plants creates within themselves to this extent!

Got my package from @AlHindOud !
Are these cute pouches new?

I want one! Would pay! 🙂

Today i received the ruh bela from ward lab along with a couple of other things. Nice packaging! This is an amazing jasmine oil if you haven’t smelled it. A couple of samples were included that I am eager to check out: Egyptian neroli and some kalimantan chips!

For all i know this kind of jasmine is all over the place in kannauj, but this is one of only two ruh motia I’ve seen that has not had any “red flags”. If you have any interest in this type of material, I think this specimen is not to be missed.

I have some that are more picture perfect representations of the plant under certain conditions, but they smell like kind of like they have been doctored order to achieve that... for example, overly soapy and commercial smelling top notes or cloying very persistent linear notes that I’ve never smelled in a jasmine oil or any essential oil.

Anyway this wardlab oil has more beauty especially viewed through the wabisabi lens… it actually smells like a distillate of Sambac flowers. Not like a fresh flower. Like a high-quality distillate. Very much the Jasmine equivalent of ruh gulab. I’ve said it before there’s some signature that I imagine I can detect in these deg distilled

What stands out is that its aroma is a concentrated version of the exact jasmine sambac note that is in the authentic distilled Sambac attars (sandalwood oil as a receiver). This is the only oil I’ve smelled with that particular note concentrated (as opposed to more unusual boosted ethereal jasmine notes or those that smell like concrete/absolute).

Maybe I’ve been looking in the wrong places… if this stuff has been available in the US over the last 30 years, this is the first time I run into someone selling it.

This is a great oil - this would be a great thing to have in your collection. I only have one oil with this type of profile - I would love to be able to really stock up on some thing like this.

It is a very nice oil and I only put a small amount on, and there is no less in the glass vial, like nothing has changed (of course that is normal even with using quite a lot, like 0.05ml). For some reason I feel like this is 1.5ml and my private wood vendor and friend said it looked like 1.5ml?

Who knows it could be! Those bottles have very irregular bottoms though, so you can’t really go on that but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a generous pour!

Yeah, I think it was considering how excited I was getting with chatting with him through PM's lol, maybe he thought to do a very generous pour and if so, I am very grateful. That is a good human being right there and that would be heavily appreciated.
