Hello, my name is Stacy.

I love oud, I am new to the world of oud and would like recommendations of oud oils that have some fruity or honey-like nuances that is more versatile and wearable for daily wear.

I love to sample oud oils, I would like to wear more to learn about them, I have had some samples that I have plowed through (Some of them I layer with a generic rose attar lol) :
Feel-oud's Tawau Al-Awwal
Al Shareef II Al Shareef (Malaysia)
Aroha Kyaku by Ensar Oud (Thailand)
Rasa Hutan Malinau by Imperial Oud (Borneo)
Sokh Khmer by Agar Aura (Cambodian)
Oud Al Masarat by Amouage (Burma)
Kedaulatan Malinau by Imperial Oud (Malaysian or Borneo?)
Kushiara Wild Hindi by Imperial Oud (Indian)

I like barnyard oud but prefer to wear them alone at home.

I appreciate your recommendations!
Thank you!

WelcomeStacy,

It seems that your collection is devoid from typical Thai oils which are probably the most versatile oils and social-friendly. I highly recommend to sampling JKD aka Rising Phoenix Perfume @ Etsy Thai oils offering as they are meticulously selected by him and each oil has special twist from wild to cultivated. Don’t buy directly from his shop but shoot him an email first so he can help you and accommodate according to your taste, very nice guy and very helpful to newbies. If you are into blending then I recommend Perfume sampler by Ensar Oud and of course his famous Thai oil Oud Yusuf. My first advise: Please sample first! Hope this will help for now 🙂

Which oil(s) by the way you like the most if I may ask?

Feel oud (feeloud.com) has had great oud at very reasonable prices and excellent quality - he has much better prices than the others and he produces all the oils himself with meticulous care. Really can't do better than feel oud.

Definitely, but unfortunately he does not offer samples most of the time. That is why I didn't mention him…

Hello Stacy great to have you here. I agree with the bove recommendations. Try sampling first. Then you can buy more of whichever ones you like. Typically the best places to buy are;

Agaraura (agaraura.com)
ImperialOud (imperialoud.com)
Al shareef oud (alshareefoudh.com)
Feel oud (feel-oud.com)
Ensar oud (ensaroud.com)

All these vendors have a lot of customers on this forum and you will find a lot of reviews of their oils. They will all have a variety of barnyard (hindi &others) oils that you mentioned along with other oils and will have samples available. If not then im sure if you send them an email they will accommodate you.

I hope you get the Oud Fever that so many of us on here have. It's wonderful.

Welcome Stacy! Very nice to have another lady! This is a glorious time to be an oud lover. There are many choices out there. Definitely sample. All the recommendations are spot on. If you like a little barn but not as much as sleeping in a pigpen, Ensar's Oud Mostafa No 5 should be on your sample list IMO.

welcome stacy you are going to hardest way so fast lol! great choice, then best thing for that kind of oud are indian laos Cambodian

Welcome Stacy the vendors listed are your best bet, i would say al Shareef's khulood is a great oil for the price! A Malay with Thai dna has a lovely toffee note with underlying fruits and a mellow woody drydown. Also Imperial oud have some nice affordable everyday wear oils from Cambodia like peam kreng. Ensar oud offers a nice oil also very sweet and easy on the western nose oud Yusuf. Its always smarter to sample oils before spashing out on them as taste is very dependant on each individual.

Welcome Stacy, the recommendations so far have been spot on. This community has many members from all over the world, I see from your profile page that you are in the U.S. I've personally had great success in forging relationships with members and doing sample swaps or using the swap shop to request/offer oils, most often for the nominal fee of shipping and many for free, there are some very generous members within this community and many willing to share.
good suggestion. i didn't think of that

Members,
As I understand and except for Habz786 recommendation, Stacy specifically asked for a certain inquiry quoted above. It seems that she already aware of the well-known venders and she didn’t ask about that. Can you please stick with her request?

Welcome Stacy 🙂

The sweetest and most versatile ouds I have is the ouds (S15-2 and s21) from Almas(Thai) and Sentana Dalem from agarwoodindonesia.

S15-2 from almas smells like sweet honey/beeswax on me.

I've wore them to university and work without anyone complaining :')
