Package came today from RPP, Osmanthus Attar and some incense. The attar is so dreamy, I've never really smelled anything like it, somehow simultaneously fruity and creamy. Only got a gram so I'll have to be sparing with it - having to exert extreme willpower to not just pour the whole bottle over myself!
Haha. Trust me, a little goes a long way. I didn't have the will power once and slathered that stuff on me. My wife said she could smell me on the top floor when I was in the basement.

Compared to the original Oud Zen I have to say that this ist actually really similar. I think the synthetic civet in the 1st version is quite "harsh" and "plastic-like" compared to the new one. In the new composition the civet is way more buttery and powdery . There is this "chocolate" feeling, it is almost like melted dark chocolate (not sweet) but it feels like the whole scent just consists out of Oud.
The original is more dusty whereas the new one feels more creamy and powdery after the opening has gone. But the difference is marginal.
I think if you loved the original you will be really happy with this one 😀 (I actually like it a bit more than the original one😬)

I don't get this...I've worn this multiple times and each time I've had a different prominent note experience.
Sometimes, all I get is barn.
Sometimes I get tobacco and leathery mixed notes.
Today this is a woody saffron bomb.

Toronto Summer is Basically like Indian winter...25 degrees on average here right now.
When I wore this in the winter I didn't like it at all. It was too cold for the scent to develop and I just got barnyard notes from top to end

For sure, I understand the barn can get heavy, but these ouds will develop over time and mature the blend too (Which you still may or may not like ), but In my opinion I would still wait for a while for it to mature and apply just tiny amounts, you might be able to study the transitions and transformation of these oils .

Oh man, the new one I heard has real civet, you will be be able to do a good comparison between the two.

Ok so check this out , My sotd is Musk Lave by Areej Le dore , I applied it from my sample pack after a while, but the alcohol seemed to have evaporated leaving behind attar consistency oil. I was not able to get the spray but it came out as a drop and I dabbed it on my hands and mustache.
I wonder if thats happened to anyone else. The oil seemed to be more potent as well , just 2 small drops and I was set for easy 5 hrs.
Sweet , musky , soft lavender, and gentle smoke weaving in and out .

I recieved a sample of this as well. It's one of the best things I've smelled this year.
