The first of several delightful treats from @RisingPhoenix which arrived yesterday. Sicilian Vanilla Attar does not merely smell like vanilla pipe tobacco, it IS vanilla pipe tobacco. Exactly like sticking your nose into one of the bulk bins at the tobacconist (do they even have tobacconists anymore or am I showing my age?). Swirls of cocoa, amber, and possibly some discreet florals add body to the fragrance, but the name of the game is vanilla pipe tobacco. I wonder whether someone who has never smelled vanilla pipe tobacco would think it smelled like vanilla AND tobacco, but for me the association is indelible. It is sweet, but not excessively so. This is going to be a staple as the weather cools. I'm in love.:Inlove:

I am indeed. Cambodi Seufi Aged and Trat AAA are splendid and full-bottle-worthy. Malaysia Aged is also a fine oud although the green/jungle profile is not my preference. I've been mixing that one with other things to excellent effect.

Shaikh Khalifa Attar by JK (RPP): Four elements are the basic constituents of the universe. And this attar is a cosmos of fragrance. Four elements: Rose, Oud, Saffron, Santal.

I found the elements in the same sequence mentioned above. Though the Oud note is Hindi , but saffron-y Hindi. One who is quite familiar with the Hindi oils, would get the second note fully Hindi in this attar. And the Rose is a beautifully ripe and mature aroma; very much balanced. I don't know how did RK managed to harness its intrinsic citrusy kick. I feel Santal has done so. Throughout the day, I didn't wear any oil; so, the moment I picked this sample vial, the senses bloomed. Kashmiri saffron is an additional note in this attar. I liked it.

The beauty of RK's attars and oils is the strength, masculinity, and minimum change in aroma from applicator to skin.

When the time comes to review this in my second batch of Rising Phoenix reviews, I think I will just defer to Rai Munir and reprint this in its entirety, because I can add nothing more.

Oud Henna by Agarwood Assam. This smells ancient, earthy, dark green herbal...Ruh Henna works so well with Hindi Oud!
The smell of henna flower oil is simply divine. We used to have a henna plant (we call is 'Mehendi', or Mendi is Dhaka) in our old house. Ladies from surrounding houses used to get the leaves for hand paint - especially during wedding, and other important celebrations. My mother-in-law uses it for hair dye.

A Blend of Ambra, Mysuru Santal, Coffee Beans, Jasmine, Frankincense $ Siberian Musk Maceration in Mysore Sandal: Musk Sandal and Coffee Beans have a lasting effect. Both notes emanate from Jasmine, and are coupled with lively Frankincensian flare and tranquil salty animalic Ambergrisian bliss.

But Musk and Coffee Rock!

@hassam mac, dearie, you asked about some attar or blend. Well, my humble suggestion is create on your own. You will love that. No need to spend money on attars. Just spend on Ouds and Sandal. And then blend/ infuse/ concoct on your own. You will learn the true nature of the ingredients, and you will learn the worth of the oils you acquire. Low standard oils cannot create depth in blends. If you have five Oud oils, just imagine the probability of having blends. Enormous.

Oud, Neroli, Santal Attar by Tyson: For me, it is the Attar of the Year 2018. Bombastic Neroli centered oil. A new and novel infusion that made me realize Nature is not limited to Oud or Oud, Sandal, and Rose only; rather Nature is so vast, and olfactory craves for all.

Salute to Tyson. He is for me a revolutionist and a dynamic creative artist. He has paved the path, and I am loving it to have that to experience the new track to realize the limitless vistas of fragrances.

Peace to all!

I was feeling a bit down today and your review really lifted my spirits , thankyou for that @Rai Munir , i feel blessed by your words. This attar has alot of sandalwood resin and agarwood resin with a bit of aged oud and neroli . Its been aging now for 4 years , i only have 2 tola's left , i usually gift people a sample with there order of other things but i could be persuaded to sell a bit. I really like using agarwood resin in my mixes as it brings the full agarwood spectrum to the table . This can only be done though in alcohol based attar though which some may not like but for those that really love agarwood its a wonderful full expression of its character .
