I own this attar and I like it more than the perfume form. There’s a overload of spices in the perfume which I don’t like.Ensar Oud, “Olde Hind”.
Warm spices, smooth, almost syrupy olfactory texture. Ensar’s tastes are evident, his aesthetic and style are expressed clearly. Endlessly comforting, soft and gentle, yet strong and masculine.
I wish he were active on this forum so that we could discuss more about his artistic process. The culture of oud, and art in general, benefits so much when artists work collectively, like seen here on Ouddict, or have a shared discourse with each other.
The only Amouage attar I have. It's really calming for me.Amouage Saffron Hamra attar - such a thick, heady, warm scent - makes me feel like I’m drinking saffron milk tea. There is something almost belly-filling about it.
Would love to pick up some artisanal saffron some day. I am keeping my eyes peeled.

I have questions... for starters, how can something smell so good? And, more importantly, how can something make me feel so good?
I won't even bore anyone with notes. This is opulence. Regality. Apotheosis. Wearing this makes me feel equal to the gods.
This BEGUM was not a commercial distillation,it was an experimental and nice Hindi&Rose codistillation and was a gift to those who supported mesOUD from first day.I'm just blown away by "Begum" from @mesOUD. In fact I just opened the tops of every sample of material I have that he distilled and I just went from bottle to bottle to try to tune into the variations and the signature style of his ouds. I think there is a clear signature in the sense of every one of these oils having that robust full throaty presence. They are also transforming magnificently… I don't have many materials that started out this nice that I've had a chance to watch age.
but back to the Begum. This stuff is transformative… Sends my mind off into a little daydream. first of all the oud is killer. Just bad ass Indian oud without any question. The Rose is nice and tangy and present... and I'm getting some weird kind of tropical floral resonance - has me wondering if I have some residual sambac somewhere on my skin but I don't think I do. It seems like maybe it's a play between the creamy Hindi oud and some facet of the Rose.
Beautiful beautiful stuff that is immediately fascinating to the olfactory system at least as I see it. I wouldn't change one thing about this (though I would love to smell that oud on its own, because it smells like a good one)
After reading the sumptuous review posted by @Mr.P I am very much interested in the second version of Begum. Are you at the liberty to disclose the approximate launch date, @mesOUD ?This BEGUM was not a commercial distillation,it was an experimental and nice Hindi&Rose codistillation and was a gift to those who supported mesOUD from first day.
A new batch of it is in soaking process, but name will be different,as coming distillation’s wood quality is more better than BEGUM.
And the jasmine like notes are totally from oud
You are welcome
