Just got home from work...
I’ve got a stick of Gyokushodo Woodland (Mori no Sho) burning while I shower.

If you never tried incense while showering or bathing, then you ought to try it one day🙂
What a beautiful incense Woodland is! The entire No Sho series is eye-opening and jaw-dropping. I have Kumo, Nami and Mori. I can’t get over them. Bargains one and all!

Indeed they are!
I wonder if Gyokushodo pioneered the charcoal sticks, but in doing so certainly created a cleaner burn.

For today......
Revisited Shunkohdo Ranjatai.
I can’t believe how much I like it now.
In my case, it really took years of heating agarwood, and sniffing oud, to truly appreciate certain sticks.

I find the sticks too weak and it doesn't do much compared to Shoyeido's premium range...

No doubt Shoyeido’s premiums are fantastic,
but just as different oud artisans focus on their own particular style, the incense stick houses have different focuses. It took many years for me to pick-up on their nuances, so hold on to those Baieido sticks and visit them from time to time.

Shaving a silver of this little badboy for the heater.....
[Ouddict.com] Burn of the Day

Had a charcoal session, burning some frankincense and myrrh and started throwing on all semi-burned bits of oud from the electric burner and toasting them through on the coal! My room has a haze of smoke now

also lit up an incense, I think this may be favourite one actually - Baieido Kobunboku! Another favourite is Shoyseido's Moss Garden which I'm burning before bed and upon waking, but Kobunboku is way better

I got the Dr. Incense Tarakan and Malaysian incense sticks. Both are great.
I transferred mine into a breathable container.
The glass tube and cork is aesthetically pleasing, but under 10x magnification, I spotted a tiny bit of mold growth at the bottom of the tube.

I will message him and inquire of the source of his Assam Agarwood. If it is old wild China market stuff, that will certainly be interesting.

According to Dr. Incense, the agarwood is from Assam, not very old, but good price. So my suspicions is that the wood will not be sublime, but hey, it’s worth a try🙂
