Random burn for no reason/special occasion...Baieido Kyara Kokoh. Easily the best incense stick that I have ever experienced.
I am going to have to agree with you:Thumbsup:
I especially like lighting all the Baieido Premium sticks in succession, from Ho Ryu up to Koh Shi Boku, then when I get to Kyara Kokoh, the green oil becomes more evident.

Right now I’m sampling Kunjudo Tenpo Kyara.
The Kyara note is certainly there, but the binder dominates this stick more so than any other ingredient. For that reason, I won’t be getting a full box.

I’m going to have to try that progression!

Japanincense.com or kohgenworld.com.
Kohgenworld accepts PayPal, but has a limited selection. If you use google chrome, you can go to kohgen.com, then translate the page, then you can see a wider selection of products. The prices on those sites include the Local Use Tax (8%). If there is something you want to purchase on either site, I recommend that you email Watarai, then ask him to send you an invoice to your PayPal and remind him to exclude the tax. The email address is [email protected]. Aloeswood chips cannot be shipped overseas, and Seijudo’s Enju is also not allowed.
Shipping is usually $20 EMS

In the USA, Japan Incense ships for free with orders over $70.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t realize that they had another site. Kohgenworld.com has a decent selection as well. My next purchase will be another kyara kokoh set with the iron burner designed by Ken Okuyama. Kohgen also has several exclusives that might be worthwhile trying out including a collaboration with Baieido on a Kohgen kyara kokoh...if I understood correctly. A great site for sure.

Also, Japanincense.com is a great company for everything. Usually, if they don’t have something, I can default to Kohgen. For example, the Baieido set with the iron incense holder.

Today I briefly heated a piece of what looked to be “incense grade” Bengal Bandarban wood by RBO. It worked beautifully on my sub heater and went well with the faintly Oudy drydown of L’Heure Exquise by Bortnikoff

A piece from either @Chip Burns or @landscape of desire - given to me in Vegas. This is WEIRD, like a very different smell to any other piece I've tried. I can't describe it - like uber sweet and unlike any oud I've burned before!
No idea of its region
if it's my gift then it's called super madhu and it's probably the most cherished piece in my collection. never was able to accurately pinpoint the origin

Tried the Kunjudo Tenpo Kyara again.

The stick itself smells Kyara-ish, and when you light it, the aroma is like Kyara, or Kyara oud oil if I might.

But then I get olfactory fatigue instantly, so much that I can’t smell the aroma from the unlit stick.

I am beginning to think that it is a synthetic perfume added. A sneaky one if so, because it does not smell synthetic at all.

I am scratching my head on this one, and still, I am not up for a full box purchase.
