Drigung Monastery : Vegetarian Long Incense

Apparently a 1000 year old recipe!
Very pleasant and easy to digest during the warmer months.
Now that the warm weather and humidity is here, there are some Tibetan sticks that do better than others, and this one performs just fine. Not overly complex, but refreshing. Tangy, bright woods cut through the humidity with spices that mimic a gentle "musk" and a deliver a thread of sweetness.

Shoyeido's Shunyou aka Beckoning Spring. The aroma sounds more like a summer breeze than spring. It lacks the "greenness" of the spring's opening flowers. There's a bitter herbalness to it. Despite my thoughts of their description, it's still light & lovely.

got a sampler of 8 different incenses coming from Yi Chen incense. 2 small sticks of 8 different selections in the package. I hope some of them are good but I expect none of it to be bad and it all will probably be mediocre and slightly above the kind of level of most of the Etsy stuff from China area. Prices are good but it's probably because it's mediocre. $10and It was worth getting a sample and maybe some of them are a surprise but I doubt it. Probably very weak and binder heavy

Tonight I’m warming granulated incense that I bought from a shop in Japan. Their site was translated into English but when I received the package everything was in Japanese. So I have no idea what I’m burning but I can tell it is heavy on the clove and spices. Luckily I love clove.
