KZ Xuanhe Palace of Song
EID 2025 rough comparison.

I get more agarwood with Palace of song,
and the cedar is minimal.
EID 2025 has more ambergris and is slightly bolder.
I’m very glad to have both.

Meanwhile…
The current Eight Milleniums
has more sandalwood, and less saffron,
than the original stick, and I’m not sure,
but I think the original stick had more agarwood. I would classify this as a sandalwood stick.

Finally got myself a sample pack of Minorien Furin Incense. Types Agarwood, Sandalwood, Kyara. I've been curious about these for ages, especially given their affordability. No bad reviews anywhere though so I'm looking forward to it.

They are good in stick AND granulated forms. It's not ancient woods they're using, but the odor is pleasant and relaxing.

Moved on from the Rapture to Shi-un, Purple Cloud, in granular form. It's sweet and woody. It's my favorite of all Shoyeido's granulated incense.

Artisan level stick.
Most Japanese kyara sticks try to capture the scent of gently heated kyara, but this stick smells like it captures the combusted kyara note.

Just received my Subitism incensor!

Burned some kynam as a test run and getting that vanilla honey scent as always. Love the temp control on this. The portable kit from Kangiiten didn’t get hot enough for me.

Will be trying some Shin Kyara (black, green, and purple) from Kangiiten. I’m sure there are nuances.

what voltage did you have it on for this chunk of wood? I have a hard time getting my woods to release their scents.

You won't look back. I'm constantly surprised with just how much scent you can get from CK.. just when you think they're done, you can go a couple of volts further and away they go again! I'm even digging out old charred pieces of CK that I've kept, thinking they were spent but with a little coaxing I'm getting vapour and scent that was still waiting to be discovered.

Look how beautiful these tears are - almost too pretty to heat.

They bubble and melt away to almost nothing - almost everything is vaporised into the scent of fizzy lemon-lime pine needles. Magnificent.

20v to 22v I’m finding optimal. But thinking of turning it down a bit more to see what results a I get.

That seems pretty high from my experience, I usually keep CK between 12 - 14 volts for several 4 hour sessions

Yes, it burns much faster that way. Thinking of turning it down. Especially with the more delicate sample that came with the Kangiiten portable kit.

Those last a long time. It’s really enjoyable. I get same lemon-lime notes you getting.

Shin Kyara (Black Kynam) - Kangiiten

I’m getting same vanilla, cream, and honey notes I usually get from decent CK. Can’t tell much of a difference.

Can’t wait to try a plethora of other kinds of chips on this sub. I’m open to recommendations.
