Incensed, and having quiet time with it, is mentally clarifying for you too.Hojari Frankincense - Makan Luban
Love that citrus scent. The health benefits make me love it even more. A staple in my house with the other combustibles.

I've bought some of this now and it's on the way.I'm currently "listening" to Reihai-Koh, aka Prayer, a nice, smooth, spicy blend of cloves, sandalwood, and patch. It doesn't linger in the air or last as long as Purple Cloud or Rapture, but it has an excellent price point and a nice, quick ride nonetheless. I give it a B+.

my Prayer is all burned out now, so I'm lighting another stick of No. 5 now. This:
awesome. It’s great. It’s supposed to have agarwood in it. I know the USA site won’t sell certain products outside of the states, just like their Japanese site won’t ship overseas, but if it does have agar it’s low. However the spices and sandalwood is awesome.I've bought some of this now and it's on the way.
I picked up the wood only version of these. I’ve only burned one so far so I don’t have a good grasp on the profile but first impression was good overall.Dr. Incense - Processed Sinking Tarakan (Oud Oil Version)
Heavily aroma, I think this is the purest agarwood sticks I’ve tried so far.
Note: Fushigi Tarakan immediately comes to mind when I first smelt it from the vial and later burned a stick.
I actually ordered the wood version too yesterday after liking the oil version. Arrives next week hopefully. I’ll share my thoughtsI picked up the wood only version of these. I’ve only burned one so far so I don’t have a good grasp on the profile but first impression was good overall.
You're like my identical twin in scent brother 😁 After my review of the KZ Mysore I then immediately lit a stick of Dreams of Merauke. And then not ten minutes after I came across your review. I really hope he releases some more of this as it's quite incredible but the limited amount also adds to the preciousness of what remains. Should definitely be priced higher but I'm super glad it wasn't.KyaraZen - Dreams of Merauke - remaining half of a stick I started yesterday. I do wonder sometimes how much price plays a role in my enjoyment of something. I give these sticks a lot of use, still on my first box, and they've been very reliable. Thinking about price to quality ratio my mind always goes to Dreams of Dali Kingdom, sticks I rarely even want to talk about due to them being so boring. I wonder if objectively these lower priced sticks are better, obviously better than Dreams of Dali Kingdom, but what about Dreams of An-Nam, and Dreams of Nanban? I don't think so, for the price they're alright, but there's a lack of complexity in those sticks, perhaps just a function of the wood from those regions, but it was quite high quality from what I recall, so hmmmm 🤔. Dreams of Hai-nan and Dreams of Fragrant Harbour though, those are both fairly priced, especially Hai-nan, it easily gives you a feel for Dreams of Fragrant Harbour without costing double the price. Maybe I can pull Dreams of An-Nam into the same camp, they are good and reliable, minty Cambodi sticks.
It's just the scent of these Merauke sticks attracts me to them like nothing else. It's not a scent I think most people would enjoy but it's a scent I loved from the first burn. I can't even describe it properly, but without fail, it stops me in my tracks, almost like stuns me into observing it, takes my breath away, without a single facet I find I have to ignore or to stomach, waiting for something better, it's just that good.

Have either of you guys noticed a similar aroma to his "Processed" offerings? The method he uses is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is to boil the agarwood in honey water, but I've observed it makes the agarwood take on aromas which aren't quite typical for the region, almost blurring the lines between vastly different regions. Nice incense for sure, and I don't think he offers "Raw" versions of his sinking agarwood sticks, I do have a raw version of his Burmese sticks, but I'm most familiar with his Processing Sinking Tarakan sticks, which smell quite different to KyaraZen's Dreams of Nanban, granted which is a Tarakan & Brunei raw incense, but still.I actually ordered the wood version too yesterday after liking the oil version. That is the way!Serge Luten's "Japanese Garden"--which is sadly discontinued. Nippon Kodo made a bunch of perfumed incense sticks for this master of scent, and it appears there are only two kinds left. Should have bought backups.
Makes me super happy to hear mate, and an honor for me 🙂! If you can find good dead Maroke wood, I think the profile is quite similar to something you could experience with heating it on charcoal (or high heat on the subitism). I'm thinking of TOL's Merauke D. B. (Daily Burn) which is quite fairly priced, and in the couple of times I've tried it, similar, perhaps even a bit deeper than Dreams of Merauke! You're like my identical twin in scent brother 😁 After my review of the KZ Mysore I then immediately lit a stick of Dreams of Merauke. I imagine that boiling the agarwood first would release some volatile notes, so your findings make sense.Have either of you guys noticed a similar aroma to his "Processed" offerings?
